The staff at ACIFT is sending our deepest condolences to the families of the students who were affected by the tragedy at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas. We are wishing you peace, comfort, courage, and lots of love at this time of sorrow. Our hearts go out to the families who were directly and indirectly affected at this difficult time.

The purpose of Mental Health Awareness month is to increase awareness and educate society as well as reducing the stigma that comes with mental illnesses.

Recent studies show that:

1/5 American adults experience a mental health issue
1/6 young individuals experienced a major depressive episode
1/20 Americans lived with a serious mental illness, such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder or major depression

ACIFT is a woman-owned, black-owned, business founded in Huntsville, AL. The mission of ACIFT is to provide individuals and families with quality mental health care utilizing evidenced based interventions that exhibit genuine care for each and every client. We seek to provide mental health services using culturally competent and culturally sensitive practices in an effort to remain inclusive in the work that we do and the people that we serve.

The vision of Alabama Center for Individual & Family Therapy, LLC (ACIFT) is to increase the mental health status, interpersonal relationships, emotional intelligence, self-esteem, and overall quality of life for every one of our clients. We hope to not only make a positive impact on the lives of our clients, but to positively impact the community as well by strengthening family systems.

This year has been difficult for us all! Small businesses like ACIFT have also negatively been impacted. As a result of the pandemic, many people reached out to receive services. We provided discounted services for over a year (WOW!), offered some pro-bono services, and registered to be a company that offered slots for low-income individuals seeking counseling. However, like most businesses finding employees/counselors to help these individuals became difficult. We would love to utilize the money to continue to take care of the professional clinicians that we have and to continue to onboard passionate and caring clinicians that share the same vision and values as ACIFT. We will also utilize the money to open a second location to reach even more families in the state of Alabama! Lastly, we hope to start a fund to assist individuals, who could not otherwise afford it, with receiving brief solution-focused counseling. We hope to be considered for this grant! Thanks for all your help and consideration.

We accept Medicaid for individuals under the age of 21.

Currently, we have an active waitlist for private insurance including Medicaid, Optum, Cigna, United, American Behavioral Health, and BCBS AL (New Directions Behavioral Health).
