Here's a quote from Dr. Kinney Lin, who blogs as the Common Sense Family Doctor. As we embrace a return to normal post-pandemic, it’s natural for COVID-19 vaccines to slip down the priority list. However, it’s vital to remember that between October 1, 2024, and September 6, 2025, COVID-19 led to an estimated 3.2–4.6 million outpatient visits, 360,000–520,000 hospitalizations, and 42,000–60,000 deaths.

Let’s continue to prioritize health and stay informed.

In September, I traveled to Oxford University for the international Preventing Overdiagnosis conference, where I presented on behalf of a research team that spent several years working to estimate the annual harms of screening colonoscopy overuse in the United States. We concluded that 2.1 million t...

Follow science, speak with your physician. Most politicians aren't research scientists. If we take our health and the health of our children seriously, we can access actual science from peer-reviewed journals. As this article states, "Sweden published in JAMA found that acetaminophen did not cause autism.

The Swedish study of 2.4 million children (1995-2019) that included sibling data to control for genetic and environmental factors found no relationship between exposure to acetaminophen in utero and subsequent occurrence of autism, ADHD, or intellectual disability. This suggests no causal effect of acetaminophen in autism.

Those and other findings show that prenatal acetaminophen use is safe, the American Psychiatric Association (APA) said in a statement.

“A strong base of evidence shows that acetaminophen, when taken as directed, is safe for use during pregnancy. Any decisions around a course of treatment should be determined by a patient and their doctor,” the APA said."

Autism experts came out strongly against the HHS report, citing the lack of solid scientific evidence for a link between autism and acetaminophen and for the efficacy of leucovorin as a treatment.

A study published in the British Medical Journal provides evidence that moderate drinking isn’t protective, despite what many patients believe. The study included US veterans, as well as data from the UK.
