Did you know that your blood sugar levels do more than just affect your energy?
They play a critical role in your hearing health, too! 👂✨

Our blog post dives deep into the connection between glucose, hearing loss, and tinnitus. High blood sugar can damage the delicate blood vessels and nerves in your inner ear, while sudden drops can disrupt how sound signals reach your brain.

If you or a loved one are managing diabetes, regular hearing evaluations should be part of your routine healthcare.

🛎️ Tinnitus — that ringing, buzzing, or pulsing that doesn’t seem to have a source — isn’t just in your head.

It also is not a disease. Tinnitus is a symptom of another issue, like TMJ disorder or an ear infection. Most commonly, though, it’s a symptom of hearing loss. The important part? You don’t have to “just live with it.” The right provider can help you find relief.

So let’s update those New Year’s Resolutions:
✅ Call family more
✅ Eat some greens
✅ Tackle that tinnitus

🦻= 😊 Did you know treating your hearing loss could lift your mood? In one recent study of hearing aid use in older adults:
🔹 Hearing aid use was linked to reduced depression
🔹 Hearing aid users had a much higher quality of life than non-users
🔹 Interaction with family and community amplified the positive effects

And that’s just ONE of the many whole-health benefits of treating your hearing loss!

🎉 Did the holidays wear you out more than they used to? It could be listening fatigue. This is when hearing loss makes your brain work overtime trying to fill in missing speech sounds amid background noise and overlapping conversations.

Other simple signs of hearing loss are asking others to repeat themselves, turning up the music more than usual, talking louder than those around you, or having trouble following a group conversation.

🎧 Make Hearing a Priority in the New Year 🎧

A new year is the perfect time to invest in better hearing—and better understanding.

✔️ Hearing aids do an incredible job amplifying sound and significantly improving speech clarity.
✔️ But hearing is more than just your ears… it’s also your brain.

That’s where LACE AI Auditory Training comes in.

🧠 LACE AI trains your brain to better process speech, especially:
• In background noise
• In fast conversations
• In real-world listening environments

📊 Studies show that when LACE AI auditory training is added to hearing aid use, speech understanding improves by an additional 25%.

✨ Hearing aids + brain training = best outcomes

If you’re already wearing hearing aids—or considering them—adding auditory training can help you:
• Feel less fatigued from listening
• Communicate with more confidence
• Get the most out of your hearing technology

📞 Ready to make hearing a priority this year?
Call Family Hearing & Sensory Neural Center to learn how LACE AI can be part of your personalized hearing plan.

🎄👂 Holiday Hearing Tips for Hearing Aid Users 👂🎄
Battery & Rechargeable Users—enjoy every moment this season!

The holidays mean gatherings, travel, and long days of conversation. If you wear hearing aids, these specific tips can help you hear your best:

🔋 For Battery Hearing Aid Users
• Carry extra batteries to every event—long gatherings drain batteries faster.
• Change batteries before big holiday meals or parties, not during them.
• Store spare batteries at room temperature (cold weather shortens battery life).
• Open the battery door overnight to reduce moisture buildup.

⚡ For Rechargeable Hearing Aid Users
• Fully charge your hearing aids overnight before busy days.
• Bring your charger when traveling or visiting family—even day trips can turn into long evenings.
• Plug chargers directly into a wall outlet when possible (not all power strips or USB ports supply enough power).
• If streaming holiday music or phone calls, expect shorter battery life—plan charging time accordingly.

🎧 For ALL Hearing Aid Users
• Clean microphones and receivers daily—moisture and debris can affect sound quality.
• Reduce background noise by sitting away from TVs, kitchens, and loud speakers.
• Ask family to speak clearly and face-to-face—no shouting needed!
• Use listening programs or phone apps if available (restaurant or noise settings work great at holiday gatherings).
• Take short listening breaks to avoid fatigue—it’s okay to step outside or into a quieter room.

🎁 Pro Tip: If your hearing aids aren’t performing as expected during the holidays, it may be time for a quick check or adjustment.

From all of us, we wish you a warm, joyful holiday season filled with clear conversations and special moments. ❤️
