Tomorrow is Giving Tuesday, and we’re rallying our community to help fund a second echocardiogram machine for the Huntsville Hospital Heart Center Pediatric Cardiology Clinic.

This equipment will help our team care for twice as many children, reduce wait times and deliver answers faster.

And for kids like Amelia, answers matter.

Amelia is a 15-year-old, 6-foot-tall, record-breaking student athlete — but she was fainting weekly and battling dizziness. After neurological causes were ruled out, she was referred to Pediatric Cardiology.

Thanks to an echocardiogram, doctors discovered her heart was not failing. She has orthostatic intolerance, a condition where her heart and blood vessels do not communicate well. With simple solutions from her doctor, she has not fainted once since.

“As a parent, it was fabulous to get that echo right away,” her mom said. “Amelia only missed one day of school to get answers. Being able to stay local was huge.”

“My quality of life is much better,” Amelia said. “I feel like someone got me a new engine.”

And she wants you to know: “We definitely need that echo machine.”

➡️ We still need $72,558 to fully fund it.
➡️ All gifts up to $25,000 are doubled, thanks to Bentley Buick GMC.

Your Giving Tuesday gift keeps lifesaving pediatric heart care close to home for more than 1,500 children a year.

We celebrated a major milestone in our Madison Street Tower expansion: the topping out ceremony! 🏗️🌿

Staff signed the final beam (complete with a small tree for good luck) before it was lifted into place, marking the completion of structural work.

Once complete, our total bed count will grow to 931 — eliminating all semi-private rooms and creating more space for patients who need to be admitted, helping improve ER flow and wait times.

A huge step forward for patient care in North Alabama. 👏🏥
