Not all shockwave therapy is the same — and higher price doesn’t always mean better results.
Radial shockwave therapy can be just as effective for many common musculoskeletal conditions while remaining more affordable for patients. It’s especially helpful for issues closer to the surface such as tennis elbow, plantar fasciitis, trigger points, fascial restrictions, De Quervain’s wrist pain, scar tissue, arthritis-related joint discomfort, and similar soft-tissue concerns. It may also help improve symptoms related to peripheral neuropathy and nerve irritation, including conditions like carpal tunnel syndrome.
Many patients appreciate the comfort level as well. Because radial shockwave typically creates less localized tissue stress per session, there’s usually little to no downtime — athletes can often return right to normal activity.
Focused and electrohydraulic (aka softwave) shockwave systems can have advantages for certain deeper or more complex conditions. However, for many everyday pain, arthritis-related discomfort, and some nerve-related conditions, radial shockwave therapy often provides excellent results while remaining more cost-accessible for patients.
