More than 38 million Americans are living with diabetes.
Today, on World Diabetes Day, we honor the daily effort it takes to manage health, make mindful food choices, and practice self-compassion along the way.
Progress happens one choice at a time — and we’re here to support that journey. 💙

If you or someone you know is feeling the impact of furloughs or financial stress, you’re not alone.
We’ve put together a list of local food resources in Huntsville — because everyone deserves access to nourishing meals and community support. 💛

If you’re in a position to give, please consider donating to the Food Bank of North Alabama ().
Rather than paying retail prices, food banks partner with manufacturers, retailers, and farmers — meaning every dollar stretches further, putting more meals on the tables of families than store-bought donations can.

Donated funds also help cover the cost of picking up food from donors and bringing it to their warehouses. With supply chain disruptions and transportation costs rising, cash donations make a big difference right now.

We're still working towards health — not perfection, not a number, but progress.

To support behavior change, we focus on accountability, help troubleshoot challenges, and integrate small, realistic habits that move you forward.

Progress happens one choice at a time — it's not always linear, and that's ok.

2025 was a great time! Thank you so much to for being the absolute best moderator (plus mentor and cheerleader) for our presentation on pelvic floor dysfunction, nutrition and eating disorders. Lisa from and I had an amazing time sharing this topic we are both passionate about.

So much great knowledge was shared, and I (Chelsea) can’t wait to share with our team, as well as clients, all the new tools!

Side note: shout out to the for the puppy holding fundraiser for the foundation! 12/10 would recommend puppy holding for fundraising. 🍠🐶

💚 Today on World Mental Health Day, let this be your reminder: taking care of your mind is just as important as taking care of your body. Small steps, gentle compassion, and seeking support when you need it all matter. You are worthy of care. 🌸

Reducing binges is not about “having more self-control.”
Binge eating is often the body’s response to restriction, unmet needs, stress, or emotional overwhelm. When we only focus on “willpower,” we miss the bigger picture. 💛

Healing binge eating means:
🥑 Nourishing your body consistently
🌱 Challenging diet rules and food guilt
💬 Understanding emotional triggers
💛 Practicing self-compassion, not punishment

It’s not about control — it’s about care. You deserve a peaceful, balanced relationship with food. 🌸

🍎 Itchy Mouth After Fruit? It Might Be Oral Allergy Syndrome (OAS)! 🌸

Ever bite into a fresh apple or peach and suddenly get an itchy mouth, tingly lips, or a scratchy throat? You’re not alone — this could be Oral Allergy Syndrome (OAS).

OAS happens when your immune system confuses proteins in certain raw fruits, veggies, or nuts with similar proteins found in pollen (like birch, ragweed, or grass). That mix-up can cause mild allergic reactions — especially during allergy season!

💡 Common triggers:
• Apples, peaches, cherries 🍒
• Carrots, celery, tomatoes 🥕🍅
• Almonds, hazelnuts 🌰

💡 Good news: Cooking or peeling the food usually breaks down the proteins, so symptoms often go away.

If you’ve noticed these symptoms, it’s worth checking in with an allergist — especially if you’re also dealing with seasonal allergies!

Are you seeing CGMs promoted as a wellness tool—even if you don’t have diabetes? 🤔

Here’s why that trend deserves a closer look:

➡️ CGMs were created for people with diabetes—not for general health or weight loss.
➡️ They produce constant data… but more data doesn’t mean more clarity.
➡️ Small changes in blood sugar after eating are normal! But without medical training, you might misinterpret them—and that can lead to food fear, restriction, and disordered eating.
➡️ They’re expensive, and the cost is rarely covered if you don’t have a medical need.

Instead of obsessing over numbers, try this:
💡 Focus on how food makes you feel
💡 Tune into hunger, fullness, and satisfaction
💡 Work with a dietitian who can help you build trust in your body—not fear of food.

Let’s stop chasing perfect numbers and start pursuing real well-being. 💛

My Nutrition Philosophy

Food is a great source of pleasure and enjoyment when you have a healthy relationship with food. My goal is to help others make peace with food. I advocate for a non-restrictive diet and work to optimize nutrition based on the individual. I believe in an individualized, holistic, whole foods approach to nutrition with balance and moderation.
