Today is Stress Awareness Day, a reminder that it’s okay to not be okay. Many veterans face hidden battles long after service ends, and managing stress is an important step toward healing. 💙

If you or someone you know is struggling, reach out; support is always available.

When your child is melting down, their brain isn’t “being difficult” — it’s in survival mode.
The part of the brain that listens, reasons, and learns goes offline when emotions are too big.

That’s why logic, lectures, or consequences don’t work in that moment — their nervous system can’t take it in.

What does help?
✅ Stay calm (your calm regulates their chaos)
✅ Offer safety and connection
✅ Wait until they’re calm to talk or problem-solve

Connection doesn’t mean letting everything slide — it means helping their brain get back online so they can learn from the moment.
