Here’s a little secret…

No therapist is going to be a good fit for everyone. It doesn’t mean anyone did anything wrong; it just means that you need or want something different. (And that’s okay!)

Aside from our areas of specialization, we’re humans with unique personalities and quirks. Just like everyone has preferences for what they look for in a friend, everyone has preferences for what they look for in a therapist.

So how will you know when it IS a good fit? Here are some examples:

💡You feel connected with them, like you’re in it together

💡Even when the work of therapy is difficult and painful, you feel safe talking to them

💡You feel heard and understood, like they just *get it*

💡If they “miss the mark,” you feel like you’re able to let them know

💡You feel like you have a say in the process and that your goals for therapy matter

💡You might even look forward to your therapy sessions! ☺️

What are some other ways that you know your therapist is a good fit?

Let's be honest - there are a LOT of therapy jobs out there right now.

BUT... they're not all built with clinicians in mind, and we think that matters. ☺️

With so many options out there, we wanted to take a moment to share what makes us special:

👉 We're a small, family-owned and clinician-operated mental healthcare practice, founded in 2018 right here in 🌄
👉 We hold our own contracts with insurance companies and are not affiliated with any nationwide venture capital platforms
👉 We don't just talk about work-life balance; we prioritize it
👉 We offer a relaxed, supportive atmosphere with small minimum caseloads and clinicians setting their own schedules with their clients
👉 We support clinician creativity and autonomy and provide professional development assistance to help clinicians establish their unique niche aligned with their clinical interests
👉 We have in-house admin support for managing client inquiries and insurance billing

With the expected temperature drop, we want to share some important information that may be useful to those in our community 🫂

We understand there are some folks that will be out in the cold, along with their pets. Did you know there is a website where you can not only find warming shelters near you- but pet friendly warming shelters near you?! The website is: wv211.org. You can also call the number 211 or text 898-211!

With these resources, those in need and their pets will be assured they won’t be left behind! ❤️‍🩹 If you’re able to share this post, you may not realize the ripple effect you can have! You never know who may see this information they desperately need!

Stay warm, stay safe out there this weekend! 🐾🥰

We are currently under a Winter Storm Warning, with temperatures around 9°F and a feels-like temperature as low as 2°F. Conditions like this are extremely dangerous for animals, especially those left outdoors.

🐾 Why cold weather is so dangerous for animals:
• Animals can develop hypothermia when their body temperature drops too low
• Frostbite can occur on ears, paws, tails, and noses in minutes
• Wind and moisture greatly increase heat loss, even with shelter
• Puppies, kittens, senior animals, and short-haired breeds are at the highest risk

❄️ Outdoor animals need more than just a doghouse:
Proper shelter must be:
✔️ Dry and insulated
✔️ Elevated off the ground
✔️ Wind-proof
✔️ Filled with straw or thick bedding
✔️ Paired with fresh, unfrozen water

🏠 The safest option is always bringing animals inside.
If you’re cold standing outside, your animals are even colder.

🚨 If you see an animal without proper shelter in these temperatures, please don’t ignore it. Reaching out or reporting concerns can prevent serious suffering or death.

Cold weather like this can be deadly — but it’s also preventable with awareness and action.
Please consider sharing this post to help protect animals in our community 🐾❄️
