Rest, Recharge, and Reconnect

This past week, our women’s group set out for a rejuvenating getaway at Enterprise Reservoir. Between the towering pines, sparkling water, and the quiet hum of nature, the trip was a chance to slow down, laugh freely, and deepen connections.

From adventurous climbs and hammock lounging to simply soaking in the peace of the outdoors, each moment reminded us how important it is to step away from the rush and find space to breathe.

At Soulegria, we believe healing isn’t only found in a therapy room it’s also in shared stories under the sun, in the stillness of a lakeside morning, and in the courage to rest. 🌞💧

Finding Healing in the Saddle

This summer, our Soulegria community traded four walls for open skies, quiet trails, and the steady rhythm of hooves.

Equine therapy isn’t just about riding, it’s about connection. With each step, our clients practiced patience, built trust, and learned to communicate without words. The horses, with their gentle strength and honest feedback, became mirrors, reflecting back confidence, boundaries, and calm.

From grooming to saddling, from first steps to confident rides, every moment offered a chance to slow down, breathe deeply, and be fully present. For some, it was a day of trying something entirely new. For others, it was a moment to reconnect with a love of animals and nature.

We left the arena with more than just memories, we carried with us a little more courage, balance, and belief in ourselves. 💛

Chaos. Laughter. Teamwork. Growth.

At Soulegria, even our experiential activities are designed with purpose.

This week’s canoe challenge wasn’t just about paddling — it was about staying calm in the middle of chaos and learning how to pivot when everything changes.

Paddles were swapped for spatulas.
Cups with holes became “bail buckets.”
One person’s job? Create as much chaos as possible (and yes… she sank the canoe).

Through laughter, teamwork, and a little friendly mayhem, our young adults practiced flexibility, communication, and problem-solving, the very skills that help them face real-life challenges with resilience.

Sometimes, growth doesn’t look like a quiet therapy room. Sometimes, it looks like three people in a canoe, learning that no matter how unpredictable things get, they can adjust, adapt, and keep going.

BigShots Golf St. George Growth in Motion ⛳

Recently, our Soulegria community hit the greens (and maybe a few golf balls into orbit) at BigShots Golf!

Between practicing swings, cheering each other on, and sharing laughs over food and friendly competition, this wasn’t just about golf, it was about connection. These outings give our young adults a chance to build confidence, practice social skills, and experience the simple joy of showing up for each other.

Because at Soulegria, healing doesn’t only happen in session, it happens in moments like these, one swing (and one laugh) at a time.

A Day at Best Friends Animal Society

This summer, our Soulegria community spent a day at Best Friends Animal Society, and it was nothing short of incredible.

From meeting curious cats, to connecting with the sanctuary’s mission, our young adults experienced the power of simple, genuine connection. These moments aren’t just fun outings, they’re therapeutic opportunities where trust is built, regulation is practiced, and empathy comes alive.

For many, caring for an animal becomes a bridge to caring for themselves. And every shared laugh, every quiet interaction, and every wagging tail was a reminder of how healing connection can truly be.

This isn’t just a hike, it’s a rite of passage.

Recently, we took our young adults on one of the most iconic and immersive treks in the Southwest: through ankle-deep water, between sandstone cliffs hundreds of feet high, deep into The Narrows. For some, it was their first time away from pavement. For others, their first time leading.

Why do we do this?

Because experiential therapy isn't a bonus at Soulegria, it’s the point. Out here, every step tests regulation. Every challenge asks for flexibility. And every moment of awe makes it harder to believe the lie that you can’t grow, can’t do hard things, can’t belong.

We walk upstream to help clients walk forward in life, toward identity, independence, and belief in themselves.

We’ll dry off. But we won’t be the same.

Pioneer Day at Soulegria: Connection, Courage, and a Few Too Many Hot Dogs 🌭

This Pioneer Day, our community leaned into celebration the Soulegria way, with intention, play, and a little competitive spirit.

From horseback relays to red-cup water challenges, our young adults tested their balance, teamwork, and bravery. But the real showdown? The hot dog eating contest. Let’s just say… it was less about winning and more about laughing until your stomach hurt (or maybe that was the hot dogs).

Therapeutic programming isn’t always about sitting in a chair. Sometimes it looks like learning to ride, cheering on your peers, and sharing a meal at a long table full of people who see you.

Thank you to our staff, mentors, and incredible clients who made this a day to remember.

This summer at Soulegria, we’ve seen young adults face things they never thought they could, not because someone pushed them, but because they chose to keep going.

Whether it was rappelling down a canyon wall or opening up in a therapy group for the first time, these moments weren’t about perfection. They were about presence. About learning that strength isn’t the absence of fear; it’s the decision to move forward with it.

We don’t rush transformation here. We walk with it. And this summer, our clients are proving that healing isn’t loud; it’s steady, relational, and earned step by step.
