Life after birth is beautiful, messy, and sometimes overwhelming. Here’s a little guide to help you care for yourself:

1. Your Body is Healing
Soreness, swelling, and bleeding are normal. Take it slow—you just did something amazing.

2. Hormones Are Crazy
Mood swings, tearfulness, and random cravings are all part of it. Be gentle with yourself.

3. Sleep When You Can
Naps, breaks, or letting someone else hold the baby—rest is gold.

4. Eat and Drink
Keep snacks and water nearby. Your body needs fuel to heal.

5. Learning Your Baby
Feeding, soothing, sleeping—it’s all a learning curve. Trust yourself.

6. Lean on Your People
Friends, family, or a doula—having support makes a big difference.

7. Move Gently
Short walks, stretches, or just rolling your shoulders—do what feels good.

💛 Postpartum isn’t a race. Little steps, rest, and care matter. You’re doing an amazing job.

Every pregnancy and birth is different, so what works for one person might not work for another—and that’s totally okay. Here are some natural ways to help manage contractions and stay as comfortable as possible:

✨ Breathe through it – Slow, deep breaths can help your body relax. Inhale through your nose, exhale through your mouth, and let each breath guide you. Soft sounds or gentle grunts can also release tension.

✨ Relax your mind – Hypnobirthing meditations or visualization exercises practiced before labor can be lifesavers. Picture a peaceful place, or imagine your baby gently moving through your body. Your body will remember when the moment comes.

✨ Move your body – Changing positions often can really help. Walk, sway, rock, or use a birthing ball. Even sitting backward on a toilet or using a birthing stool can relieve pressure.

✨ Hydrate & snack wisely – Drink water or coconut water, and have light, easy-to-digest snacks like yogurt, omelets, or soups.

✨ Comfort techniques – Gentle massages, warm compresses, aromatherapy, or soothing music can help. A warm bath or shower can also relax your muscles (just skip the bath if your water has broken).

✨ Support & encouragement – Surround yourself with people who lift you up, and repeat affirmations that remind you how strong your body is.

Labor can be intense, but with preparation, support, and guidance, you can feel confident and cared for throughout your birth journey. 💛

If you’d like personalized support during labor, a doula from Little Lilacs Birth Services can help guide you through childbirth journey.

Pumping can feel like a full-time job, mama—but a few simple tweaks can help you get the most out of every session. Here’s how you can boost your supply and make pumping a little easier 👇

1. Drink, drink, and drink some more
Milk is 88% water! Keep a big water bottle nearby and sip often. Feeling dehydrated? Drink even more. Your b***s will thank you.

2. Eat like a champ
Pumping burns calories—lots of them! Snack often, aim for healthy foods, and yes… treat yourself to a cookie or lactation brownie every now and then.

3. Pump it right
Make sure your pump is set up properly and emptying as much as possible. It signals your body to produce more milk.

4. Fl**ge size matters
Not all pump flanges are created equal. Using the right size can make pumping more comfortable and effective.

5. Give your b***s a spa day
Massage before, during, and after pumping. Even your armpits have ducts! Hand express afterward to get every last drop—studies show it can boost output up to 50%!

6. Don’t stress, don’t stare
Stop watching the bottles. Put on a show, scroll through cute baby videos, or grab a book. Relaxed minds = better letdowns.

7. Power pump like a pro
Mimic cluster feeding to boost supply. Perfect for weekends or when one b**b is slacking behind the other—your body will catch up!

You’re doing amazing, mom! Pumping isn’t easy, but a few little tweaks here and there can really help—and don’t forget to give yourself some credit too!

Moving your body while pregnant can feel really good but some exercises are better saved for later.

For now, it’s best to skip:
• Holding your breath during workouts
• Activities where falling is likely
• Contact sports
• Hard or jarring movements to the belly
• A lot of jumping or bouncing
• Deep twisting or uncomfortable core exercises
• Pushing too hard, then stopping for long periods
• Working out in very hot weather

Your body is already doing something big — growing a baby.
Pregnancy exercise isn’t about doing more. It’s about moving in ways that feel safe and supportive.

If something doesn’t feel right, it’s okay to stop.
And when in doubt, always check in with your provider.

Some mornings start after very little sleep.
Your body is still healing. Your emotions feel close to the surface. And you’re figuring things out as you go.

That’s where this verse meets us:
“His mercies are new every morning.”

Not because today is perfect, but because God is gentle with us in it.
One day at a time. One breath at a time.

If you’re in pregnancy or postpartum, know this. You’re not behind. You’re not alone. And you’re so deeply supported. 💙

Even when your baby is smiling and everything looks calm, the first weeks after birth can feel overwhelming for new moms. Fatigue, stress, and anxiety are totally normal—and sometimes having extra support makes all the difference.

As a partner, you have a huge role in helping her feel cared for. Here are some ways to support her during postpartum:

• Let her rest – Take early mornings or help with night feedings so she can get a little extra sleep.

• Notice the changes – Keep an eye on her mood or behavior and gently encourage her to speak up if something feels off.

• Be available – Show up, be present, and help wherever you can.

• Encourage professional help – A therapist, midwife, or postpartum doula can be a huge support.

• Provide postnatal care – Help with meals, comfort, and checking in on how she’s feeling.

• Get extra help – Hire a night nurse or create a little postpartum village with friends and family.

• Support breastfeeding – Offer a hand during feedings or just sit nearby to keep her company.

• Surprise her – Small gestures like flowers, a favorite snack, or a simple meal go a long way.

Postpartum recovery really is a team effort. 💛
If you want some guidance on supporting your partner every step of the way, our postpartum doula services at Little Lilacs Birth Services are here to help.
