Traffic Advisory: Starting Wednesday (01/07), as part of the Harwich sewer installation project, thru traffic traveling south on Route 39 towards East Harwich, will be detoured onto Freemans Way to Route 137, where you will be able to then continue into Harwich. The roadwork is taking place on Route 39 in Harwich, just north of Pleasant Bay Road. Motorists who need to access any of the neighborhoods in Brewster, off of Route 39 will be able to do so. If you are returning to Brewster, from Harwich, a detour will be in place at Pleasant Bay Road, directing you to either Route 137 or Route 28. These detours will be in place from 7am to 4pm Monday - Friday and are expected to be required for several months, as this phase of the project is underway. Officers will be in place to assist motorists in getting to their final destination, and we will post updates as needed.
