Another busy weekend. Presentation to the Women In Spine Education section of the British Association of Spine Surgeons held in Cirecester, England Saturday (early) am followed by a presentation for the New Zealand Spine Society in the afternoon. Thank God for Zoom! Then went to our local supermarket for oysters😀

I was honored to be invited to Porto, Portugal to assist a colleague and now friend - Dr. Miguel Loureiro to perform endoscopic fusions. Spinal endoscopy is a platform that is revolutionizing the field of spine surgery. I am fortunate to have learned these techniques and fortunate to be able to travel the world teaching them. AND enjoying the food 😀

I was honored to be a proctor at the ESPINEA faculty meeting in Irvine CA this past weekend. It is always a privilege to meet with such brilliant and gifted surgeons. It was also an opportunity to test new instruments and refine new techniques so that I can bring them back to my community

I was honored to be invited to AMCICO 22 (Mexican Society of Spine Surgeons) as a guest professor. Our section on endoscopic spine surgery was at times standing room only, reflecting the enormous interest in endoscopic spine techniques. I am grateful to my colleagues Dr. Alfonso Garcia, Dr. Felix Dominguez Cortinas, Dr. Cesar Alcantara and Dr. Javier Quillo Olvera for the opportunity. As always, Dr. Raymond Gardocki reminded us how things don't always seem as they appear...

I think it is important that physicians never stop learning. As our understanding of disease processes evolves, we need to adapt our interventions to provide the best care our patients deserve. When the literature supports new procedures I adopt them into my practice and hopefully provide meaningful relief to my patients.
