Mom-Life with a newborn is chaos.๐ถ While caring for your baby, sometimes you think, โIn the time it would take me to ask someone to do x, y or z, I can just do it myself.โ Or, โHow come no one asks if I need a hand?โ
Youโre independent. You excel at multitasking. Youโre in survival mode. You feel youโre falling short of your perfectionist standards.
Survival mode comes at a price. You have tunnel vision with your baby, & only just so much room in your peripheral vision because a tiny human depends on you for everything. But youโre afraid of failure & feeling like youโre not enough.
My name is Carissa & Iโm a Spiritual Maternity Coach. Here are 3 ways to create opportunities to be supported, while you stay present & support your baby:
1) Ask & be specific. Delegate. Ex. #1 (): โWhile I feed the baby, could you please put the clothes in the dryer?โ Ex. #2 (@ the mall): Iโll find a quiet place to sit & feed the baby. Can you take little Suzie for lunch & a walk? Keep the momentum of the day going, while you take your time.
2) Trust. Beyond fear of rejection that you will ask & get a โnoโ reply, are feel good vibes that go both ways. You deserve to be seen, & so do your needs. Most are happy to help & donโt know what to do.
3) Release control. Guide, & let go of perfectionism. Let โem buy little Suzie ice cream for lunch. Everyone gets to enjoy the present moment more.
Asking for help gets easier with time. The little things mean so much over the course of a chaotic day, & help you feel like you're not completely alone.โจ๐
As a Spiritual Maternity Coach, I teach new Moms early on in pregnancy - how to use their voice, & stay present. It becomes a practice for my clients early on, so it's ingrained in them before baby arrives. Click the link in my bio for more info & to sign up for 1:1 coaching!๐โจ
Even when the present moment is chaotic, it is beautiful & so precious.
