🚨 Today is the FINAL day to support the GMAS Vertical Challenge Fundraiser! A huge thank you to everyone who has already donated — we truly appreciate your support 💙

We’re still working toward our $20,000 goal, and every contribution helps us continue funding the TetraSki and essential instructor training. Our program is proud to offer the ONLY TetraSki lessons in Vermont, and your support helps keep this accessible and affordable for all who need it.

Our instructors are at the heart of everything we do. Keeping their certifications current ensures our lessons remain safe, professional, and top-quality.

If this program means something to you, please consider making a tax-deductible donation today. Every bit helps!

Thank you for being part of our community 🙌

Donate, or ski with Tom as he attempts to set a personal record for the most vertical feet skied in one day on March 16.

Sunday marked the last day of ski lessons for our athletes—and what a fantastic way to wrap up the season! ❄️⛷️
We are incredibly proud of all our athletes and everything they’ve accomplished this year. A HUGE SHOUT OUT to:
🌟 Vivi (age 4) – now rocking five runs standing up on the carpet! She tops it off with some thrill rides in the sit ski with instructors Weeze and Tracy—and she is all smiles every time!
🌟 Koa – made amazing progress this season! Skiing with Carrie, he went from four runs on Inspiration during his weekly lesson to six runs on the Meadows. He’s now independently engaging his right turns and having an absolute blast!
🌟 Jenna – who loves skiing with Rosemarie and has built so much confidence over her many years in the program. It’s been incredible to watch her growth!
👏 Bravo to all of our athletes! We hope you had an amazing season skiing with GMAS—we can’t wait to see you back on the slopes next year!

Our ski season is wrapping up—and what an incredible one it’s been! ❄️⛷️

This year, we had the privilege of serving 43 athletes, each participating 6–8 private lessons at Stowe Mountain Resort and Smugglers' Notch Resort, plus an additional 26 TetraSki and SnowKart athletes at Stowe!

A huge shoutout to our coordinators Mary Anne Lewis and Cathy Webster—they truly deserve a GOLD medal for the dedication and heart they put into making it all happen 💛

And we also want to celebrate two very special individuals who have helped shape this season’s success: Skizzi and Rachel. Take a moment to get to know their stories in our latest blog—we think you’ll be inspired!

Thank you to everyone who made this season so memorable. See you on the slopes next year!

Emma "Skizzi"Huffman and Rachel Bender are some of the awesome humans working their magic behind the scenes of our Adaptive Ski Programs.

We are proud to call Vail Resorts and Stowe Mountain Resort part of our journey to create a world where skiing and riding are more easily accessible for people of ALL ages and abilities.

Through a generous annual grant from the Vail Resorts Epic Promise Foundation, our organization is able to provide more opportunities to ski to more diverse groups of athletes.

In 2026, the GMAS Ski and Ride program provided:

⛷ 43 athlete scholarships to Vermonters of all ages to receive 6-8 adaptive ski or ride lessons each, or a ski pass at Stowe Mountain Resort through our Adaptive Ski and Ride Program.

🎯 A unique experience for 27 monoskiers coming to learn, to rip, to grow, to network at the Stowe Monoski Camp, a huge collaborative event with big and small New England adaptive sports organizations.

🏅 Scholarships for the instruction, training and participation of 6 Vermont Special Olympics athletes skiing and Smugglers Notch to race at The Hermitage Club in the 2026 Winter Games Alpine Ski and Snowboard Competition.

🙌🏽 Support for 25 TetraSki and Snow’Kart athletes who have had the privilege to ski in the only TetraSki in Vermont all winter — with 4 of them going to the TetraSki Express International Competition late March.

💃🏼 And always…most memorable experiences and access to inclusive sports and recreational activities that improve the quality of life for Vermonters with disabilities.

🤟 We love to be able to continue to grow, and strengthen our community by getting more people involved in sports, and more volunteers engaged in adaptive sports.

💫 Thank you Vail Resorts Epic Promise Foundation and Stowe Mountain Resort for this important partnership, we couldn’t achieve all of this without your generous support.

Congratulations to all the athletes who participated in the Special Olympics Vermont 2026 Winter Games at the Hermitage Club at Haystack Mountain. From the race courses to the awards stage, the atmosphere was filled with energy, joy, and positivity.
Three of our six GMAS-sponsored athletes competed and enjoyed every minute of their time on and off the slopes.
Congratulations to Devon, Jack, and Tristan and their coaches on an outstanding ski season at Smugglers' Notch Resort. We are so proud to be able to offer financial support to cover the training and racing expenses for these athletes — and provide opportunities like this, made possible thanks to the generosity of our amazing donors.
