Your knees shouldn’t hurt when going down the stairs. This client is a high level athlete who has to perform a ton of plyometrics, in repetitive sequences which aggravated the patellar tendon connecting to the shin bone. It’s also a very common repetitive strain that is seen in runners, and jumping exercises. I see you CrossFit. 👀 👀👀. Treatment can vary, from modification, eliminating any activities that worsen it(just temporarily), OTC anti inflammatories if ok with MD, and of course physical therapy with a home a home exercise program.

Welp, the long answer short, is a muscle knot....the more technical definition is as follows ....
“Sensitive areas of tight muscle fibers can form in your muscles after injuries or overuse. These sensitive areas are called trigger points. A trigger point in a muscle can cause strain and pain throughout the muscle. When this pain persists and worsens, doctors call it myofascial pain syndrome.”
Good news is, there are many ways, involving tools, techniques and medicine to release these painful restrictions, like cupping, dry needling, ultrasound, active release, massage etc.

A shoutout to who donated the Buddy to . This is just an example of what may help to release your fascia when you can’t readily find a therapist that does any of the above. It may look a little scary and feel a tad awkward to use especially when used in the company of others (😆) but I think It can help release the tissue.

Nothing that a face peel, Cupping and Dry Needling won’t fix. I adore multitasking, especially when It finally includes some self care/self love. I spend most days taking care of others and I forget to address my aches and pains. If we don’t secure our own oxygen masks firsts, how can we really help others. It’s not selfish to create space to do things that make you feel better nor should you feel guilty about It. You’ll be a healthier AND happier person, spouse, friend, daughter/son, employee, entrepreneur, boss, parent, girlfriend/boyfriend, etc. So get yourself an appointment that leaves you feeling better, stronger, healthier, happier, more flexible, more WELL then when you started. You won’t regret ONE. SINGLE. MOMENT.

The Doctor said you have a disc problem but he started speaking a foreign language soon after so you’re not sure what kinda disc issue you have that’s causing you discomfort?!? Here’s the break down...(literally)
1. Is what a healthy disc looks like
2. Is a “hot disc” A disc that is “hot” or inflamed is a sign that something is going on and there is usually degenerative changes.
3. Bulging Disc a bulging disc protrudes outward but the outer layers of the annulus remains intact. However, because the disc protrudes into the spinal canal, it can still compress a nerve root. Disc bulge is also known called disc prolapse.
4. Herniated Disc When a disc herniates, the soft nucleus spurts out through a tear in the annulus. Because there is limited space in the spinal canal, the nucleus can compress a nerve root or the spinal cord. The nucleus can extrude into the spinal canal, foramen, on either side of the disc, Typically, a disc that herniates is in the final stages of degeneration. Although herniated discs can occur in any area of the spine, they are more common in the lumbar region. Other terms used describe herniated discs include disc extrusion, slipped disc, or ruptured disc.
