I am so happy to announce that I am now at Manual Solutions Physical Therapy as they’re Massage Therapist.

I am there Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays which gives me more appointment times to see you!

✨Hip Decompression ✨

The hip is an amazing joint. It craves complex movement in all planes. We must have sufficient mobility in the hips to perform movements we do Every. Single. Day. -sitting, standing, squatting, lunging and climbing stairs.
But what happens when there’s dysfunction?

❌If our mobility is lacking the hip, pelvis and trunk will impact and influence other joints that can potentially lead to injuries.

❌the most common injuries that occur are ACL tears, IT band syndrome and patellofemoral joint pain.

🌿What can we do?

🏋️Train in all planes of movement! Frontal, sagittial and transverse. Dynamic movement can help foster muscle balance and lead to better functioning in the joints.

😴Recover- never underestimate the power of good sleep and proper nutrition.

💆‍♀️ Stretch and soft tissue work can do wonders for muscles that have become overworked and tight, leading to compression, irritation and pain.

Massage, what is it?

It’s intentional soft tissue manipulation through the use of hands or tools.
That means it targets skin, muscles, tendons and ligaments.

There’s so many different types of massage that everyone can benefit from

🌿Swedish - focused on lighter pressure with longer strokes, kneading, vibration and tapping- can help you feel more relaxed and energized
🌿Deep Tissue- slower, deeper strokes to focus on the deeper structures of the body- can help with muscle tension and pain.
🌿Sports Massage- a blend of deep tissue and focused passive and active stretching- can help treat and prevent injuries
🌿Trigger Point- when muscle because overused we can get hyper-irritable points within the muscle belly- ischemic compression is used to reset the neuromuscular junction to reduce the irritation and pain in the muscle.
