So many clinics have wait lists. Lots of people are waiting months for open spaces.

Finding time during the day with a busy life is also difficult. Many people can't come during work hours to get the help and life perspective they need.

We just added a new clinician who can solve both problems for you. Evening appointments and no wait list, with most private insurances accepted.

You can message us here on Facebook, text or leave a voice message at 208-557-1575, or visit our website www.mythrivecounseling.com/contact to schedule a consultation call.

Hello!

We are ready to grow it a little and so we are looking for a licensed counselor (LPC, MSW, etc. or higher) to join our business and grow with us.

It’s finally finished! Here are some photos of my office! I’m so excited to begin providing therapy in this space. It’s inviting and warm, and unlike all my previous offices I actually enjoy being in it! ☺️

Many people simply want what they want, and they will gladly use your time and emotional resources to get their own needs met.

Once you’re aware of that you can feel good about saying no. They’ll find someone else to take advantage of, and you’ll be healthier for it.

Dissociation is not commonly discussed outside of trauma-informed circles, but even in these spaces it’s a misunderstood occurrence at times. Through the lens of IFS dissociation is the work of a clever part who has noted that the body’s experiences bring pain…so (very simply put) it stops the ability to notice those experiences.

Without diving in too far into the ocean of dissociation, I think many of us can appreciate that level of sophistication. Dissociation is not the absence of anything. It is the presence of a part!

This brings hope like many other therapies cannot, because dissociative parts can be known and healed!

EMDR is thought of as mysterious by many and treated with suspicion by some. I actually think that’s good, because we should all be researching the therapies we either use or are receiving. That being said, EMDR is truly life-changing for many. It is not always appropriate depending on the stage of treatment you’re in, but that’s okay! Exploring the possibility is a good first step to healing!

Want to know more about EMDR and what it’s like to work with me? Reach out! I’d love to talk with you!

It can be distressing for many of us to not have conscious memories to go along with our bodily sensations.

Well-meaning people might say, “well at least you don’t remember,” without realizing that the body cannot forget trauma.

Each burst of muscle tension, sudden increased heart rate, wave of nausea, or any other bodily sensation is communication.

Honor your body today. It is doing its best to try to keep you safe.

The most effective way to heal is to respond with compassion toward our parts, especially when the symptoms they exhibit aren’t easy for us to handle. This type of compassion isn’t usually innate and is often first experienced in the therapy setting.

Want to explore your inner world and get to know the parts who have been caring for you? Make an appointment with an IFS therapist in your area!

And if you’re in Idaho Falls (or all of Idaho for telehealth) check out my website to set up a consultation with me!
