Rocky Mountain Diabetes Center specializes in endocrinology disorders in adults and children. Typical conditions that are evaluated or treated by the Center include diabetes, osteoporosis, insulin resistance, thyroid diseases, thyroid cancer, hypertension, cholesterol (lipid) disorders, pituitary and adrenal disorders, obesity, infertility, and growth problems. Treatment, research and education are all important segments to Rocky Mountain Diabetes Center.

National Diabetes Awareness Month Fact 14: Today is WORLD DIABETES AWARENESS DAY!

According to the International Diabetes Federation, around one in nine adults globally (≈ 11.1%) are living with diabetes.

Our message today is to raise awareness about both the physical and emotional challenges of diabetes. It is essential to support and care for the whole person who is new to diabetes. Together, we can make a difference for a better life with diabetes.

National NP Week Spotlight: Justin Rogers, FNP-C 💙

This National Nurse Practitioner Week 2025 and today we’re proud to recognize Justin Rogers, FNP-C, a trusted provider at Rocky Mountain Diabetes Center.

With a strong background in ICU, emergency, and behavioral health care, Justin brings valuable experience and calm expertise to our team. He earned his FNP master’s degree from Millersville University and has cared for patients in both acute and emergency settings, including a top-ranked ER in Pennsylvania.

Now back home in Eastern Idaho, Justin is dedicated to helping patients manage both acute and chronic conditions with compassion and skill. Outside of work, he enjoys sports, the outdoors, and time with his wife and three kids.

National NP Week Spotlight: Katy Nielsen, FNP-C 💙

This National Nurse Practitioner Week 2025, we’re proud to highlight Katy Nielsen, FNP-C, one of our trusted and compassionate providers at Rocky Mountain Diabetes Center.

Originally from Virginia, Katy moved to Idaho Falls in 2016 and brought with her a wealth of nursing and clinical experience. Her background includes working in both adult and neonatal intensive care units, as well as in primary and psychiatric care before joining our team in 2019.

Katy’s diverse expertise and warm, approachable nature make her an incredible part of our endocrinology and diabetes care team, where she helps patients achieve better health every day.

Outside of work, Katy enjoys traveling and horseback riding with her husband and their two wonderful children.

National NP Week Spotlight: Jonathan Williams, FNP-C 💙

As we celebrate National Nurse Practitioner Week 2025, we’re proud to recognize Jonathan Williams, FNP-C, a trusted provider at Rocky Mountain Diabetes Center.

Jonathan began his healthcare career as a registered nurse in emergency medicine before earning his Master of Science in Nursing from Idaho State University. Since 2008, he’s provided compassionate, expert care for patients with both chronic and acute conditions, while also contributing to our ongoing clinical research efforts.

Outside of work, Jonathan enjoys running, horseback riding, hiking, and camping with his wife and five sons, and he’s an active Boy Scouts leader in the community.
