Playing in the snow isn’t just fun—it’s a powerful, whole-child developmental experience!
❄️⛄ Here are some of the key benefits:
❄️ Gross Motor Development
Walking, running, climbing, sledding, and jumping in snow all challenge balance, strength, coordination, and endurance. Snow creates natural resistance, helping build lower-body and core strength.
❄️ Sensory Processing
Snow offers rich sensory input—cold temperature, changing textures (powdery, crunchy, wet), and visual contrast. This helps children learn to tolerate, interpret, and regulate sensory information.
❄️ Body Awareness & Motor Planning
Uneven, slippery surfaces require kids to adjust movements in real time, improving proprioception, spatial awareness, and problem-solving (“How do I move without slipping?”).
❄️ Fine Motor Skills
Scooping, packing snowballs, building snowmen, and using mittens or gloves all strengthen hand muscles and coordination—especially important for developing grasp and dexterity.

The snow should clear out just in time for our Teen/Tween class! PM me for details - only 2 spots remain! Does your teen enjoy expressing creativity? Do they need an opportunity for socializing and interacting with peers? Come chill and create with us on Thursday evenings- 8 week session begins this Thursday.

Starts Jan 29 | Thursdays 6:30–7:30 PM | 8 weeks

🎨 Kids (5–12)
Starts April 9 | Thursdays 5:00–6:00 PM | 6 weeks, includes 10 minute yoga warm up!

Fall craft sessions went off with a bang this week! Enjoyed meeting and working with a great group of kiddos! We were so busy being crafty that I didn’t get pictures this time around! 🍁🤖🎨
