🎃👻 Happy Howl-oween! 👻🎃

Imperial Animal Hospital will be closing at 5 PM this evening so that our staff has time to ready their creatures for the holiday festivities.

As we gear up for a night full of tricks and treats, here are a few Halloween safety tips to help keep your furry friends safe:

🐾 Keep candy out of reach! Chocolate, xylitol, and other sweet treats can be toxic to pets.
🕯️ Watch those decorations. Curious noses and wagging tails can easily knock over candles or chew on cords.
🚪 Be mindful of the door. Trick-or-treaters coming and going can be stressful, and it’s easy for a pet to slip outside.
👗 Choose pet costumes carefully. Make sure outfits aren’t too tight, hot, or restrictive, and always supervise your pet while dressed up.
🌙 Provide a safe space. Some pets get anxious with the noise and excitement, give them a quiet, cozy spot to relax.

Today is our Technician, and In-Patient Care team member, Lizzie's Birthday!🥳 When she is not here helping care for your loved ones, Lizzie enjoys spending time with her little family, baking sweets, thrifting, preparing for baby(who will be here is 22days!👶🏼 or less🤯) and simply enjoying life! Thanks to everyone who played along with us today! Here are the answers to this week’s questions:

1️⃣ What part of a dog's body helps it regulate temperature, since it can't sweat like humans?
✅ It's tongue and paw pads.
(Dogs pant to cool down, evaporating moisture from the tongue and mouth, while limited sweating occurs through their paw pads.)
