Did you know? We can bring therapy directly to your student.

We're proud to partner with Independence School District, Raytown C-2 School District, and Fort Osage School District.

We know how busy life can be, and offering therapy in schools means you don't have to miss work or manage transportation, and a kid you love can get the support they need in a place they already know.

If you're interested in school-based therapy, or you think accessible mental health is important and you'd like to join our monthly giving program, you can do all that and more on our new website: capacares.org!

Since 1963, National Social Work Month has highlighted the amazing impact of social workers. This year's theme, "Social Workers: Uplift. Defend. Transform." describes exactly what our team does every day.

We're so grateful for the hard work of our staff, and so excited to host so many future social workers through our internship program! They're changing lives every day, helping individuals and families build better lives and create positive change in our community.

Learning to name our feelings is an important skill for kids to develop. When they can put a word to what they are feeling, they are better able to calm down and make good choices. This is a big part of social-emotional learning.

As a trusted adult, you can help reinforce these skills at home or in the classroom. Try asking "how are you feeling right now?" and looking at this illustration together. When you practice these simple strategies alongside children, you show them that all feelings are normal and that there are healthy ways to handle them.

The kids in your life are probably already learning social-emotional skills at school. These books are a great way to keep that going at home! They cover topics like empathy, kindness, and managing big feelings in ways kids actually enjoy.

Grab them for free at your local library, or find purchase links in our bio! The links support independent booksellers, we don't receive anything from your purchase.

Did you know? It's National Social-Emotional Learning Week!

Social-emotional learning (SEL) helps students build important life skills like managing emotions, solving problems, and understanding others' feelings. Every week, CAPACares visits classrooms to teach social-emotional skills with a trauma-informed approach. It's not just a program, it's a promise to meet every child where they are, so they feel safe, understood, and ready to grow.

As you can imagine, praising oneself in the third person is awkward, but suffice it to say she really loves her job and has the best coworkers!
