Armistice Day, as it was known before the Korean War, was meant to be a reminder of the horrors of war and discourage future conflict.
Without this public appreciation of the atrocities experienced in combat, we have failed the veterans we claim to honor by resorting to military intervention too quickly, deployments that are too frequent/lengthy, providing grossly inadequate care: from transitioning back to civilian life to healthcare and housing. They deserve better. We have to do better.

Well, just like his or her dad, baby is 2 weeks past due, so my paternity leave will be extended through the end of September. I will resume appointments on Tues Oct 5.
