Good evening! Steve Pringle with Diakonos Counseling. Please join me in 60 seconds of silent thought and prayer for the famies and friends of the 9 soldiers in Kentucky who died serving their country. Having been a military Chaplain for 23 years, I know the deep sadness and grieving they are all going through…………….As I have thought about and prayed for the families and friends who are experiencing such profound loss, my prayer has been, “Dear God, surround the families and friends with many selfless, caring, and supportive people.” Let me share some brief thoughts about unselfish people. They are generous with their time, possessions, energy and money. We will find thoughtfulness, gentleness, and an unpretentious spirit flowing from truly unselfish people. It all looks like this. An unselfish husband places his own wants and desires to meet the needs of his wife and family. An unselfish mother isn’t angry when she has to give up her agenda or plans for the sake of her children. When an athlete is unselfish, it is the team that matters, not top honors for themselves. When a soldier is unselfish, they serve their country while putting aside what they might like to do. In a culture which has become more selfish by the day, let us all become more and more UNSELFISH! May God raise up in America, a large Army of unselfish people to be there for the survivors of unexpected, unexplainable and unwanted tragedies! May you go to bed tonight genuinely wanting to be an UNSELFISH PERSON! God bless! Steve Pringle with Diakonos Counseling.
