I don’t think many people realize why ‘Iris’ Midwifery is called Iris Midwifery.

My mother was an amazing Woman whom I lost during my first pregnancy. Her never ending support is what guides me to help women & show up when someone really needs a shoulder. Her favorite flowers were Iris’s

This gorgeous girl in the picture is named Iriskay. She is my fireball of a girl and her birth spear headed my personal labor and birth journey in life.

My daughter’s birth was one of realizing there are more options in life than what most rural providers give to their patients. Her birth showed me I had a voice and could do hard things.

However, her birth showed me how hard labor can be without the proper support. Together her I try to push boundaries, educate ourselves and have more fun than probably is allowed.

So, in honor of my daughter, my Mother and all boundary pushers. I decided to name my community practice Iris Midwifery.
