A heartfelt thank you to the Baldwin Wallace Catholic Jackets and the parishioners of St. Michael Catholic Church, for spending their Saturday with us helping prepare our conference center for Monday’s volunteer dinner! Your time, energy, and willingness to serve made such a difference, and we are truly grateful for your support. Events like this don’t happen without community, and we are so appreciative of the care you poured into helping us get everything ready!

Grief can feel heavy, but you don’t have to carry it alone.

This monthly gathering is designed for families who are navigating the loss of a loved one, offering a safe and supportive space for both children and parents to process in their own way. Through art, stories, games, and guided conversation, families are given tools to express what words often cannot.

Children and teens are grouped by age, while parents have their own space for support and reflection. Together, each family moves at their own pace, side by side, but not alone.

As we close out Volunteer Month, we’re taking a moment to recognize the incredible individuals who give their time, compassion, and hearts to support our mission.

This past Monday, we gathered for a Volunteer Appreciation Dinner to celebrate our volunteers and the countless ways they show up for grieving families. Their presence brings comfort, their kindness creates connection, and their dedication makes healing possible.

We are so grateful for each and every one of them.

Mental Health Monday!

As April comes to a close, take a moment to check in with yourself. Not everything you’ve carried this month is visible to others, and not every step forward felt like progress, but that doesn’t mean it didn’t matter.

Give yourself space to slow down, breathe, and recognize the quiet strength it takes to keep going. You don’t have to rush into the next season. It’s okay to move gently.

Let this be your reminder that showing up for yourself in small ways is still something worth honoring.

Grief is never simple, but sometimes it becomes especially complex, layered with unanswered questions, unexpected emotions, and experiences that feel harder to name or understand.

When grief becomes complicated, it can feel isolating, confusing, or even overwhelming in ways that don’t follow a clear path. There is no “right” way to move through it, and no timeline for when it should feel easier.

What matters most is having space to acknowledge it, to speak it, and to be supported in it. Healing doesn’t mean forgetting or fixing what was lost, it means learning how to carry it with care, even when the weight feels different from day to day.

There’s something truly special about watching a butterfly take flight, especially when it carries the love and memory of someone close to your heart.

Join us on June 27 for a meaningful and uplifting morning as we gather to honor and remember loved ones through a beautiful butterfly release. It’s a gentle, powerful way to celebrate their life while being surrounded by a supportive community that understands.

This family-friendly event offers a moment to reflect, connect, and create a lasting memory together. Whether you come with others or on your own, you’ll be welcomed into a space of care and remembrance.

We encourage you to reserve your butterfly in advance and be part of this special experience. Butterflies are $25 each and will be released following the memorial ceremony, with gatherings at 9:00 AM and 10:30 AM at Cornerstone of Hope in Independence, Ohio.

We would love to have you there. Visit this link to register: https://secure.lglforms.com/form_engine/s/DE8q4JB6PDx3gx2gI6bY2A?t=1773061578

Creativity can often express what words cannot.

Join us for a special Art Therapy Workshop where children are invited to explore their emotions through hands-on creative expression in a safe, supportive environment. Guided by our licensed art therapist, participants will create meaningful stepping stones that honor their journey, reflect their strength, and give shape to their story.

This experience is designed for children ages 6 to 17 who are navigating grief and may benefit from a healthy, creative outlet. No prior art experience is necessary—just an openness to create, express, and begin to heal.

Saturday, May 9, 2026 from 12:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. at Cornerstone of Hope in Independence. The cost is $10, and space is limited to 20 participants. Early registration is encouraged.

What started as a place of support became a place of purpose.

After experiencing loss, Logan found comfort at Cornerstone of Hope during one of the hardest seasons of her life. Years later, she returned, this time as a camp volunteer, sitting beside a child and offering the same understanding and reassurance she once received. That’s the impact a camp volunteer can have.

If you’ve ever felt called to make a difference, this is your opportunity to show up for a child who needs someone to sit with them, listen, and remind them they’re not alone.

For more information on how to volunteer at this year's camp, click here: https://cornerstoneofhope.org/camp-volunteers

Watch Logan’s story and consider how you could make a difference in a child’s life.

Grief is not one size fits all.

It doesn’t follow a timeline, a checklist, or a set of expectations. It looks different in every person and can change from one moment to the next.

There is no “right” way to grieve. No perfect way to carry what you’ve lost. Your experience is your own, shaped by your relationship, your memories, and your heart.

Wherever you are in your grief today, whether you’re just beginning, or learning how to move forward while still holding on, know that it’s okay. You are allowed to grieve in the way that feels true to you.
