This March, Good Shepherd Hospice joins the nation in celebrating social workers and their dedicated compassion. The 2026 theme - Uplift. Defend. Transform. - perfectly captures the heart of hospice social work.

Our social workers don't just provide "support"; they are catalysts for peace and advocates for dignity during life’s most sacred transition.

How They Live the Mission:
β€’ Uplift: They lift the heavy emotional burdens from families, providing a steady hand and a listening ear when the world feels upside down.
β€’ Defend: They are fierce advocates for our patients' wishes, ensuring their voices are heard and their rights to comfort and self-determination are protected.
β€’ Transform: They turn fear into understanding and chaos into a calm, structured plan, helping families find meaning and connection in their final chapters.

Social workers are the bridge between a medical diagnosis and the human experience. To our Good Shepherd Social Workers: Thank you for the countless ways you uplift our spirits, defend our patients, and transform the end-of-life journey into one of dignity and grace.

For over 30 years, our mission has remained unchanged: providing comfort, dignity, and unwavering support to families when they need it most.

Since we first opened our doors in 1995, we’ve had the profound honor of walking alongside thousands of individuals on their final journey. Every patient has a story, and every family becomes part of ours. It isn’t just about medical care; it’s about the quiet moments, the shared memories, and the peace of mind that comes from knowing you aren't alone.

Why Three Decades of Experience Matters:
β€’ Deep Community Roots: We’ve grown alongside the neighborhoods we serve.
β€’ Expert Compassion: Decades of specialized knowledge in end-of-life comfort.
β€’ Trusted Continuity: A legacy built on three decades of word-of-mouth trust.

Thank you for allowing us into your homes and your hearts since 1995. We are here today, just as we were then - dedicated to every moment.

We love our volunteers!

We love our volunteers!

At Good Shepherd Hospice, we believe that volunteering isn't just about "giving time" - it’s about putting love into motion. Every role, whether behind a desk or at a bedside, carries the weight of compassion when it’s needed most.

Here is how our volunteers turn kindness into action:
β€’ Patient Visit Volunteers: Your presence tells a patient, "You are seen and you are valued." Simply being there is the purest form of companionship.
β€’ 11th Hour Volunteers: This is the ultimate act of love - ensuring that no one has to journey through their final moments alone.
β€’ Vet-to-Vet Volunteers: Only a veteran truly understands a veteran. This shared bond provides a unique sense of peace and "brotherhood/sisterhood" to those who served.
β€’ Pet Volunteers: Animals offer unconditional love. Bringing a furry friend to a visit can break through isolation and spark joy in ways humans sometimes can't.
β€’ Remembrance Bear Volunteers: Hand-sewing a bear from a loved one’s clothing creates a tangible hug for a grieving family - a lasting labor of love.
β€’ Student Volunteers: By bringing youthful energy and a listening ear, you bridge generations and remind patients that their legacy continues.
β€’ Office Volunteers: You are the heart of the operation. By keeping things running smoothly, you ensure our clinical teams can focus entirely on patient care.

Join our mission today. Your heart has a home here. Help us provide comfort, dignity, and a little more love to our communities.

Okay friends and family! We have been challenged to reach 600 followers on our page. If we reach our goal of 600 followers a couple of our Administration team will take a pie in the face or an ice bath challenge! This will be so fun to see how many we can reach. Please share, like and follow our page to see if we can reach that goal by the middle of March! Help us give our administrative team some pie in the face!
