Friends & Family in Florida? Tell the Governor:
Sign the Bill to License NDs!
We have incredible news to share: Under the leadership of the Florida Association of Naturopathic Physicians (FNPA), CS/SB 688, the bill to license Naturopathic Doctors (NDs) in Florida passed both the Florida House and Senate. This is a monumental step forward for naturopathic medicine and for the patients demanding access to it! However, the bill has one more very important step before we celebrate victory.
Governor Ron DeSantis must sign the bill!

On behalf of the FNPA, we are asking all AANP members with a Florida address to take action right now and send a message to Governor DeSantis urging him to sign CS/SB 688 into law.
If you are a resident of Florida or have a Florida address (thinking snowbirds here), please click the link above to send a message directly to Governor DeSantis' office. The process takes just a few minutes, and every message makes a difference.
A few important guidelines:
- Please DO NOT call the Governor’s office.
- Please DO NOT post about this issue on social media.
- Please DO ask every Floridian you can think of to send a positive message.
Share this email with colleagues, patients, and supporters who care about healthcare freedom in Florida. The more voices the Governor hears, the stronger our message.
Why this matters: For too long, Floridians have been denied meaningful access to naturopathic medicine under a near-total ban that has kept licensed NDs from practicing in the state. The passage of CS/SB 688 represents years of dedicated advocacy — and Governor DeSantis' signature will finally:
Remove the existing barrier to naturopathic medical practice in Florida.
Protect the public by requiring rigorous education and national licensing standards.
Establish clear title protection (i.e., “Naturopathic Doctor,” “doctor of naturopathic medicine,” and the initials “ND” / “NMD”), protecting the public from misleading / unqualified individuals representing themselves as naturopathic practitioners.
Provide a scope of practice for NDs to diagnose and treat, and administer, furnish, order, perform, or prescribe certain devices, substances, and therapies consistent with naturopathic training.
AND expand healthcare choice for millions of Floridians allowing patients to choose the type of provider and care that is right for them.
We are so close. Let's finish this together.
In health and advocacy,
AANP Staff
