When Indianapolis home health aid Kimberly Rochon arrived at her client's home, something seemed off. Her client wasn't acting like herself.
Kimberly recognized the signs of a possible stroke and called 911.
Hours later, the hospital confirmed it. Her client had indeed had a stroke.
Be like Kimberly—know the signs of a stroke!
Think FAST:
• F = Face: Is one side of the face drooping? Ask them to smile.
• A = Arms: Can they raise both arms? Does one drift downward?
• S = Speech: Is their speech slurred or hard to understand?
• T = Time: If any of these are present, call 911 immediately. Time is critical.
Other signs to watch for include sudden confusion, trouble seeing in one or both eyes, a severe headache with no known cause, and loss of balance or coordination.
Thank you, Kimberly, for your quick thinking. We are proud to have you here at PurposeCare!
