Bluem Herbal Bodywork Bluem Herbal Bodywork (formerly Blue Ether) is a massage and bodywork practice. Deep breathing, and occasional laughter is encouraged.

My goal is to help people live with less pain and stress using massage therapy, yoga, and mindfulness. Bluem Herbal Bodywork (formerly Blue Ether) is a massage and bodywork practice that incorporates elements of mindfulness and a touch of herbalism. It is a space of mind-body reconnection, a space where you can let down all your troubles for a time and reconnect to yourself. My ultimate goal, at least right now, is to own and operate a tea shop/massage practice downtown Indy. A space where I can still see clients, and also hold community based events such as herbal workshops, yoga/mindfulness classes, etc. The world could use another zen space. The spaces I utilize to see clients and work with the public are free from judgement, and hateful words/actions are not tolerated. Please, please, please, do your best to be kind.

We all have joints, and they are all susceptible to injury, over-use, and aging. While it's no substitute for professional medical care, massage therapy can help keep your joints healthy and mobile.

Massage techniques and joint mobilizations (not like a chiropractor) can assist the flow of blood and synovial fluid. This brings fresh oxygen and nourishment into joint capsules and the cartilage lining the spaces between bones. Knots, trigger points, and general muscular tension surrounding joints can be addressed to facilitate healthy range of motion. Crepitation and joint pain (especially chronic) may never go away, but massage therapy can be an invaluable tool for managing the symptoms!

If you are someone that has joint pain, massage therapy may be a consideration for your regular maintenance.

Self-reflection is kind of perfect during times when we are snowed in, or stuck in place for any amount of time. Let yourself, from time to time, take inventory on your life. Remember how your past few days have gone, and look forward to the next few days.

I offer massage therapy and yoga classes, both of which are great pathways for self-reflection. Often you can gain some insight into your own body or mind while laying on the massage table. Not only that, but you leave feeling better than when you arrived!

As a yoga teacher, I'm often asked what pose I would most recommend people do for benefits. That's a sticky question because who is asking? Why would they want to do yoga? What benefits are they looking for? But I do have an answer!

One of these three I would recommend people do every day (and in fact people do these at at least one point every day): sukhasana (sitting cross legged), siddhasana (sitting with legs stacked), and savasana (laying flat on your back). If you haven't guessed it yet, this is me again telling you to slow down and incorporate meditation into your daily life.

There are so few things in life that ask nothing of use, yet give us so many potential benefits! And if you want to start, but you aren't sure how, I'll give you three simple words: inhale, exhale, repeat. Simply listen to your breathe like you'd listen to music and let the rest unfold. 💙
