We don’t always get to hear the full impact of the classes we teach, but every so often, a story comes through that takes our breath away. This is one of those moments.

Here is an actual email we received from a participant in one of our CPR classes:

*"I was in your Tuesday CPR training class, and I wanted to let you know that I think it may have helped save a life last night.
My husband and I were walking back to our hotel in Chicago and came upon a man laying in the street right by the curb. A woman was standing next to him and was already on the phone with 911. Because of what I learned in your training, I checked for responsiveness and then quickly started chest compressions. He opened his eyes after 10 chest compressions, so I assume he was not in full cardiac arrest. He remained incoherent after opening his eyes and tried to sit up. Another bystander came over to help him from falling back down and we all stayed with him until the ambulance arrived shortly after that. It was an intense end to our night!
Anyway, I just thought you would want to know that the training you provided made me confident to jump into action in a scary situation."*

Stories like this remind us why we do what we do. CPR training isn’t just about passing a class—it’s about giving ordinary people the confidence and courage to step in when seconds matter most.

We’re so proud of this student for acting quickly and using her skills to make a difference.
