As Indiana’s Seventh Circuit Court allows the ban on gender affirming care for youth to go into effect know you are not alone. Legal specialists alongside your doctors, therapists, allies and community members will continue the labor by fighting to provide evidenced based medical care for gender diverse youth. Hey rebels, you’re right. That inkling you’ve had that we live in a society that systematically works to suppress individuality is right on. Those systems collectively work to make us sick. Standing up to say I will no longer participate in this system that is not working for me makes those few to whom the system benefits anxious. That is what we are seeing today in our legislatures. However living in an authentic way is the only way to ever be free…free of oppressive systems and the sickness that develops as a result of conformity. We will never stop working to break down these barriers so you can live free.

Being a therapist is the great privilege of my life. Each day I have the opportunity to join people in their becoming. Becoming who they have long hoped to be, becoming healed from the pain of their past, becoming more accepting of their bodies, becoming more present and mindful in their daily life, and becoming more true to themselves every day.
