Even though it is , other patients need our attention too. Monday was Stuffie Hospital Day at .Umbrella.Center, where many beloved stuffed animals got check ups, vaccines, and lots and lots of stitches. The kids at The Umbrella Center took great pride in the before and after care of their stuffies, but the care was provided by Drs. Katie McHugh and Dave Wippermann of Specialists!

Thank you to The Umbrella Center for hosting such a fun day of education, connection, and, of course, stuffie healing.

Ever do your best to prepare as much as possible, only to have unexpected drama and problems ruin your plans?

I take a medication that makes me very sensitive to the sun, so I ALWAYS have sunscreen and protective clothing at the ready. Yesterday, however, my sunscreen ran out so I couldn’t reapply and I forgot my long sleeves in the car because I was hot. I’m paying the price today with a terrible sunburn and mild sun poisoning. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Chronic illness and pain change our lives in the smallest and biggest ways. From all the “stuff” we need to have to all the things we need to remember to all the times we try and fail to plan, life is just HARDER with chronic conditions.

I hope you have an easy day today, one where your plans work out and your expectations are surpassed. And if it’s not an easy day, remember that you are not alone.
