Is STRESS to blame for your gut issues?

The short answer is YES. ABSOLUTELY.

The total cumulative stress you have on your body, mind, and spirit will absolutely affect your body’s ability to digest food and utilize its nutrients.

The specific ways this can occur for gut health are:

Stress can contribute to improperly digested foods due to low production of hydrochloric acid in the stomach.
Stress can weaken the mucosal lining.
Stress can impede the entire digestive process and even affect our bowels.
All of the above reduces absorption, which leaves us feeling exhausted and depleted.
