For more than a century, Hooverwood has served the elderly with dignity & respect. At Hooverwood, we recognize each resident as a unique individual.

We care for the whole person in an energetic, active, and social environment. Our goal is to provide a home where residents can thrive. Hooverwood is a nonprofit nursing home located on the Max and Mae Simon Jewish Community Campus in northwest Indianapolis. Our home is Medicare and Medicaid certified, providing skilled nursing and medical services, rehabilitation, dementia care, and adult day services. We’ve created a home-like setting with private and semi-private rooms. Residents can enjoy amenities including a beauty shop, gift shop, courtyards, and chapel. For this month’s Kibitz & Cocktails, we were pleased to welcome guest speaker Scott Campbell, a paramedic with over 20 years of experience and the son of our resident, Karen! 🚑🚨

Scott shared valuable insight into the 911 process, the role of paramedics, and answered frequently asked questions about emergency services. It was an informative and engaging evening, and we are grateful to Scott for sharing his expertise with our community!

This week’s Giving Tuesday Gratitude Series features Keyuana Bell, an LPN with over 20 years of experience in healthcare, and a proud member of the Hooverwood Living team.

Keyuana shares how meaningful conversations with residents, their wisdom, and their care for her as a person bring her deep fulfillment. But it’s not just what she receives, it’s what she gives. With time to slow down, listen, and connect, Keyuana helps residents feel seen, valued, and truly cared for. At Hooverwood, lower staffing ratios allow our team to build relationships that go far beyond routine care, creating moments that uplift everyone involved.

Last week at Hooverwood Living, we celebrated the changing seasons with our annual Fall Festival! 🍂 🍁 Residents enjoyed apple cider, donuts, live music, and a pumpkin decorating contest featuring some seriously creative staff designs! Everyone did an amazing job this year, swipe to the end to see which pumpkin took home the win! 🏆

Yesterday’s Guild Game Day was another wonderful success! The Hooverwood Guild gathered a lively crowd of players for mahjong, canasta, and more—all while enjoying a delicious luncheon at Woodland Country Club in support of the Guild’s mission to enhance the lives of our residents. 🀄🃏

“There’s nothing harder than losing a parent, but there’s nothing more gracious than a hospice team like you have here at Hooverwood.” 💜

In this week’s Giving Tuesday Gratitude Series, Stuart shares his experience as the son of Jean, a former Hooverwood Living resident. He reflects on the comfort, clarity, and compassion provided by ARN Hospice, part of the Hooverwood Living family of services. Whether serving our residents or members of the greater community, ARN Hospice is dedicated to walking alongside families with dignity, presence, and heart.

Special thanks to Stuart for sharing his story and honoring Jean’s memory.
