For more than a century, Hooverwood has served the elderly with dignity & respect. At Hooverwood, we recognize each resident as a unique individual.

We care for the whole person in an energetic, active, and social environment. Our goal is to provide a home where residents can thrive. Hooverwood is a nonprofit nursing home located on the Max and Mae Simon Jewish Community Campus in northwest Indianapolis. Our home is Medicare and Medicaid certified, providing skilled nursing and medical services, rehabilitation, dementia care, and adult day services. We’ve created a home-like setting with private and semi-private rooms. Residents can enjoy amenities including a beauty shop, gift shop, courtyards, and chapel. It was such a meaningful eight nights celebrating Hanukkah with our Hooverwood Living friends and families!

Each evening, as we gathered around the menorah, we were reminded of the light we bring into one another’s lives and the strength that comes from celebrating together. We are so grateful to share these moments with the people who make Hooverwood Living feel like home. We hope everyone had a Hanukkah filled with light, warmth, and peace. ✨

Yesterday’s Donuts & Dreidels Hanukkah brunch was such a special way to start the holiday! Families and loved ones braved the cold to join us, enjoy a beautiful brunch spread, and celebrate together.

A big thank-you to Cantor Judy Meyersberg for helping us get ready for Hanukkah by leading a sing-along of our favorite holiday songs! Our residents loved warming up their voices with all the familiar tunes and new favorites. 🎶

We’re excited to kick things off this Hanukkah with our brunch this Sunday and continue with a full week of celebration for Hooverwood and Kraft Commons residents and families as we gather each evening at 4:00 pm for songs with Cantor Meyersberg, a festive Hanukkah nosh, and time together around the electric hanukkiah.

Plus, join us for Hooverwood’s night of lighting the community menorah at JFGI on Wednesday, 12/17 at 5:00 pm. Looking forward to a joyful Hanukkah together! 🕎

For our final Testimonial Tuesday leading up to Giving Tuesday, Stuart shares how Jean found comfort, confidence, and new experiences at Hooverwood Living.

He speaks to the deep trust he felt in our long-tenured staff, people who not only cared for Jean, but truly knew her. From outdoor exercises to cooking classes to library celebrations, Jean embraced a new chapter surrounded by familiar faces and genuine connection. What began with hesitation slowly became connection — our staff gently encouraged Jean to try things she once said she wouldn’t, and over time, she truly came out of her shell.
