On 12/11/2024, INARF was hosted by the incredible team at New Horizons Rehabilitation, Inc to explore how we can continue to support their mission and provide valuable resources.

We discussed how INARF can assist with member services, advocacy, technical assistance, and navigating the ever-evolving disability services landscape. We also had the pleasure of touring their facility and seeing the amazing work they’re doing to positively impact the community.

The Goal: To create a resource to help Hoosiers understand what it means to be a Direct Support Professional (DSP), the importance of DSPs to the I/DD community, and how to become a DSP in Indiana.

The Result: whatisadsp.org ➡️ A Website Featuring:

-Testimonial videos by DSPs, individuals served by DSPs, and family members of individuals served by DSPs

-Information on Indiana state requirements for DSPs

-Job Boards from INARF member organizations across the state of Indiana hiring DSP roles

-Information on how advocacy has impacted the DSP workforce

Special Olympics partners with Microsoft to enhance technology experience to encourage more athletes to be involved in their events.

Special Olympics athletes are leading the design of the organization's new center of excellence, which will help expand the movement.

We had a great discussion with State Representative Matt Lehman, the Majority Floor Leader of the House. He was able to take a tour of Bi-County Services in his district and also learn how Bi-County Services and Easterseals Arc of Northeast Indiana provide services to his constituents every day. Thank you, Representative Lehman, for your interest in our industry ahead of what will be a very busy legislative session!

Looking back at the month of October, our biggest highlight was undoubtedly our Pre & Annual Conference that took place October 8, 9-10. 🎉Thank you again to everyone who was able to attend Pre & Annual Conference, our 50th Anniversary Gala, and/or our Awards Luncheon. This was such a special milestone year and we were happy to be able to celebrate and learn side by side with each of you. If you haven’t marked your calendars already for next year, be sure to save the date for INARF’s 2025 Pre & Annual Conference: October 14, 15-16.
