Janis Sawyer Legendre was an amazing woman. I am grateful for her friendship and tutelage at Indiana Therapeutic Massage School. I am a better person today because of her. Rest peacefully beautiful lady.

Our founder, Janis Sawyer Legendre, passed away peacefully yesterday. She created our school in 1994. She did something right, because today we are the longest standing massage school in the state. Janis created a culture of connection at ITMS. Not only did she pave the way of legitimizing massage therapy as an industry, but she genuinely cared for every one of her students, instructors, and clients. Her ability to love, inspire, and empower those around her was unmatched. The impact she had was profound and her legacy will live on forever. ITMS will be hosting a memorial service in the future. We will post details for the event soon so stay tuned.

This building is ½ mile from my current office. It is at the corner of Vermont and Meridian, near the War Memorial and adjacent to the Athletic Club. Built in 1926, The Chamber of Commerce Building is one of Indianapolis’ historic landmarks, blending historic charm with modern upgrades and amenities.
