Peeking in on a move you could see this month at Functional Fitness - Bear Hold with optional Donkey Kick + Side Step.
You’ll see me start with a few Cat-Cows to warm up the spine before hopping in. In class this might not be your first move but if it is, we always warm up together before class starts!
Stop 1 - Bear Hold
From tabletop, hover the knees 1–2 inches off the earth. Keep your back flat, hips squared & core engaged (while breathing 😉)
Come down & break as you need, then hop back in.
Stop 2 - Add in a Donkey Kick, Side Step or both.
Keep your foot flexed like you’re high-fiving the ceiling, hips squared & spine long as you step side to side.
Add this move to your routine to build strength without compression, improve spinal support & to stabilize your core while your limbs move - AKA real life strength!
Deep core, shoulders, glutes, hip stability, full body coordination all included — sneaky hard in the best way!
