Made up of in-house, hand illustrated images of the animals, plants and quotes that we love, this 2026 May All Beings Be Free calendar is the perfect gift for yourself or someone you care about, with all proceeds contributing to increased access to equitable mental health care for people made marginalized. In alignment with honoring the flow of nature’s rhythm, each month highlights the Full and New Moon cycle, in addition to changes in season.

All proceeds from the sale of this calendar, just like all the merch on our website, will help us subsidize mental health care for those that we serve—last year totaling $32,000 in philanthropic contributions to access to care alone. We really, actually and truly, can’t do this work without your support.

If you’re gonna spend this season, let your dollars support folks in community and give a rad gift to yourself or your loves while you’re at it!

The truth is, we can’t talk about affirming mental health support without acknowledging the purposeful public health emergency more than 600,000 Hoosiers will face tomorrow when SNAP benefits are no longer available for an undetermined amount of time…When people in power control the lever as to whether or not life sustaining social supports will be utilized, and they choose not to release essential emergency support, we have to look around and ask ourselves “If not them, who?!” And the answer is us. We have to take really good care of one another right now, and always.

Dr. Stephen Porges says “If you want to improve the world, start by making people feel safer.” We’re here to help support you in having a regulated nervous system as we traverse these inhumane conditions, AND there are other wonderful food security organizations in town that can help keep people fed.

Please see original post (reshared here) for info on where to get food if you or someone you love need it. And please know that we care deeply for you all, and that together, we will see each other through this storm.

If you’d like to learn more about what we’re doing at ICC to help care for those who have been made marginalized, consider signing up for our newsletter. We even share a Jazz Before Therapy Playlist once a month and celebrate the wins in it, too! The link is in our bio.

We love you Indy, and we’re staying strong with you!

Christine joins Irvington Counseling with more than 15 years of extensive experience working with multicultural elementary-aged children, adolescents, families, and individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, grief and loss, complex trauma, and acculturative stress. Her warmth and wisdom are felt when you are with her, which tracks with her particular passion for helping children who’ve experienced trauma, including unaccompanied minors and their families, by assisting them in building emotional resilience and a sense of safety.

Christine is available to help support you, your family system, and the children that you love starting NOW and is bilingual in both English and Spanish!

If the cost of accessing care is a concern, like it is for so many of us, ICC offers our Mental Health Relief Fund for undocumented and uninsured Indiana residents, with recipients contributing as little as $5/session in order to maintain affirming care.

You can reach her at: christine@irvingtoncounseling.org or 317.721.3726

We are so glad that you are here Christine. Your heart, prescence, experience and care shine very bright 🌟

Thank you to for creating this community support tool. We’ve printed them in English and Spanish, and they’ll be hanging out in our waiting space for clients to snag, along with an accompanying whistle. Please consider donating to if you snag one, and please make copies and share with your circle of influence.

We can’t talk about supporting folks’ mental health without acknowledging the effects of systemic white supremacy and xenophobia that runs through the groundwater of our nation’s history and present day reality. On Indigenous Peoples’ Day, and everyday, there are essential truths we need to find the courage to face and make forward progressive movement toward in order to rediscover collective care and mutual liberation.

Let’s start by acknowledging that the vast majority of us are ancestors to immigrants on this unceded land. Whether by force or hope for a better life, what is your ancestry? Where do come from? Let’s start there. Then let’s keep taking good care of each other.

We’re NINE!!

Irvington Counseling was founded on a simple belief: everyone deserves access to compassionate, affirming, and well-supported mental health care.

Too often, people are met with systems that retraumatize rather than heal — especially those whose identities, lived experiences, or financial realities make access to care harder to find. Our mission was born from lived experience.

Our founder, Lauren, aged out of the foster care system and lost both biological parents in early adulthood — losses shaped by the same gaps in access that so many still face today. Out of that deep pain came the question, “How can I help?”

The answer began in a backyard, inside a little “therapy shack” — a tiny house where folks could simply pay what they could. The community came knocking, and from that small space, something amazing has rooted.

Today, that tiny house has blossomed into a thriving nonprofit collective of like-minded therapists dedicated to providing income-based, sliding-scale therapy and affirming care to those too often left out of traditional practice models.

We’re deeply grateful to our clinicians, staff, board, clients, and donors who make this mission possible every single day. Next year, we’ll celebrate a decade of this work together — but today, we pause in gratitude at this 9-year mark. 💛

If you love what we do, please consider donating $9 today to support access to sessions for community members experiencing financial insecurity, and for our Black, Brown, Indigenous, Transgender, Nonbinary, and/or Undocumented neighbors.

So many thanks to Grit and Grain, LLC for volunteering time and awesome talent to help our old door thrive!

We are so grateful for your help reinforcing this sometimes cantankerous threshold into our place of refuge. We added a little flair with some flower adornments so that clients and clinicians can feel the love when they arrive, too.

We say it a lot because we mean it: it’s our community that makes this work sustainable for us. THANK YOU Grit & Grain, you rule!!

Appreciation doesn’t come close when attempting to articulate how GRATEFUL we are to have welcomed Dana Harrison (she/her) to our small but mighty team as Administration & Finance Director at ICC!

If you receive our newsletter or saw our post, you know that we faced an unprecedented financial challenge in August. With the support of Dana, community donors, and our dedicated members of the board of directors, we quickly got a strong plan in place. Things are feeling much more hopeful over here—and quickly so! Dana swiftly supported us with calm guidance and mission-aligned strategy. A true hero!

She joins us following more than two decades leading and consulting with nonprofit organizations, and advising businesses ranging from start-ups to Fortune 200 companies. Mental health challenges have touched Dana’s life in many ways, making the mission of ICC one that is personal. A neighbor of Irvington, you might find her biking to the office on nice days.

We are so glad that you’re here, Dana. Thanks for helping us be here doing what we love to do!❤️
