When people think about a gala, they often picture the beautiful details, the tables, the lighting, the program, the celebration. And yes, those things matter. But for our St. Jude Evening of Hope Gala Committee, the real story begins long before guests arrive. It begins with why we do this work and the people who quietly bring that purpose to life.
Over the past several years, Kristine Schutte has been one of those people. Her dedication to St. Jude shows up not in headlines, but in the steady, thoughtful ways that keep momentum moving forward. From organizing and supporting gala committee efforts to helping align countless moving parts, Kristine consistently keeps the focus where it belongs, on the children and families St. Jude serves.
That commitment doesn’t stop with the gala. For two years, Kristine has helped support the St. Jude Memphis Marathon Weekend, coordinating the behind‑the‑scenes details that turn a race into a meaningful experience. From planning meals and travel logistics to creating moments of connection and celebration, she helps ensure that participants can show up focused, supported, and proud to represent this mission.
Kristine has also helped bring St. Jude’s mission into leadership gatherings through meaningful service projects, reminding all of us that giving back isn’t just something we plan for, it’s something we do. Whether assembling care kits or helping weave mission moments into meetings, her work consistently connects purpose to action.
Time spent learning more about St. Jude’s work in Memphis has only deepened her commitment, and here in Indiana, we’re incredibly proud to have Kristine helping rally fellow Hoosiers around this cause. Hope may reach far beyond our state, but it’s built locally, through people who say yes, step up, and bring a servant’s heart.
