It is with great sadness that we share that Dr. Dawn Stephens, a longtime AASP member and CMPC, passed away on November 10, 2025, at the age of 71.

Dawn was a researcher, professor, and mentor whose work on the moral and motivational aspects of athletic aggression shaped the field of sport psychology and influenced countless athletes, students, and colleagues. Known for her integrity, generosity, and thoughtful guidance, she set a standard of excellence that many looked to as a model for both professional and personal growth.

Beyond her academic work, Dawn was deeply committed to her community. She founded a horse rescue sanctuary, devoted herself to education and service, and inspired those around her to act with compassion and purpose. Her impact will be felt not only in the field of sport psychology but in the lives of the many she touched through mentorship, friendship, and service.
