Careforth

Careforth Careforth empowers family caregivers across America to confidently care for their loved ones at home

Careforth provides the clinical and emotional support caregivers need, and secures financial support for those who qualify, so caregivers never have to go it alone caring for a family member or friend. We help caregivers discover their own power, easing stress and building skills so that they feel confident overseeing their loved oneโ€™s care, care recipients enjoy better quality of life, and referrers see improved client engagement and health outcomes.

Caregivers: are you taking care of yourselves? Self-care looks different for everyone, but it's an important part of caregiving. You don't have to completely overhaul your routine to find moments of peace. Look for habits you can easily blend into your daily life as it exists right now. โ˜ฎ

Happy International Women's Day! We're lucky to have so many amazing women throughout our organization and the caregiving community we serve. ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿผโ€๐Ÿคโ€๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿป They're quick to offer a helping hand, generous with their time, and always show up for each other. In honor of Women's History Month, here's what a few of our associates would tell their younger selves.

Happy Employee Appreciation Day to all our Careforth associates! We can't show up for caregivers the way we do without the compassion and commitment our colleagues bring to work every day. ๐Ÿ’œ

Have you ever wondered what activities of daily living (ADLs) are and why theyโ€™re so important in caregiving?

ADLs include everyday tasks like bathing, feeding, dressing, and getting around. Knowing how a caregiver manages these activities for their loved one can make a big difference in planning care that truly supports their needs. Whether youโ€™re a family caregiver or planning for future care, check the first comment below for our guide that explains it clearly. ๐Ÿ’ฌ

Brain injury recovery is deeply personal and can look different for everyone. Tiffany, who cares for both her parents, has seen this first-hand after each of them experienced a stroke.

For Brain Injury Awareness Month, weโ€™re revisiting Tiffany's caregiving story. It's a testament to the important role caregivers often take on navigating life after stroke. Check the first comment below to read. ๐Ÿ’ฌ

We had the privilege of joining HFC's CareCon event this week, and it was a meaningful afternoon for family caregivers. Staying true to their mission, the virtual gathering was an important reminder that caregiving is heavy, and sometimes laughter helps us carry it. ๐Ÿ’œ

Caregivers could choose from different sessions on topics like burnout, anxiety management, and how to navigate the healthcare system. As many of us do, moderators and panelists had their own caregiving stories. Actress Yvette Nicole Brown, who has cared for her father with Alzheimer's disease for the last 12 years, shared in a way that stayed with us: "We're fighting for the lives of our person. Fighting for their dignity, fighting for their healthcare, fighting for their memory."

Did you attend CareCon this year? Drop a comment below and let us know. ๐Ÿ’ฌ While we wait for next year, explore what HFC has coming up throughout March:

When systems and technology run smoothly, most people never notice. But that stability is what allows our care teams to focus on what matters most: supporting caregivers. ๐Ÿค Manager of Business Applications Peter Spiak has spent the last 14 years building and refining our technology to be reliable, efficient, and easy to use.

โ€œBy strengthening the systems and processes that support our care teams, my work helps ensure we can deliver consistent, high-quality support to caregivers and families.โ€

Interested in doing work that connects digital expertise with human impact? Weโ€™re growing our team. Check the first comment below to learn about Peterโ€™s work and the mission that drives it. ๐Ÿ’ฌ

Our care teams are the heartbeat of what we do. ๐Ÿ’“ Take it from one of the caregivers we work with:

"[Our Careforth care manager] is there for both of us. Sheโ€™ll help with any questions I might have about Mark but also anything that might be bothering me. Couldnโ€™t ask for a nicer person. She spends time with us explaining everything we need to know." - Deb, Careforth caregiver

We're looking for an RN Care Manager to join our Boston team, which includes a sign-on bonus and a flexible schedule. Interested? Check the first comment below for the details. ๐Ÿ’ฌ
