Many treatments which formerly involved prolonged surgical procedures can now be done in a more incremental fashion in the office under local anesthesia and mild oral sedation. For example, Coolsculpting is rendering some liposuction procedures unnecessary, and Voluma, a new cheek filler and lifter is making surgical mid-facelift a far less common procedure.
