📊 New findings from the Guttmacher Institute show that contraceptive need remains high across the U.S.

Using a refreshed, person‑centered metric, Guttmacher reports that 21.5 million women nationwide likely needed public support for contraceptive services in 2023—driven by financial barriers and the need for confidential care among younger women.

🌟 Here in Indiana, that need is significant. Based on the newest Guttmacher data on contraceptive need, an estimated 478,850 Hoosier women may require public support for contraceptive services and supplies.

Access to essential reproductive health care shouldn’t depend on income—every Hoosier deserves the ability to plan their future with dignity, choice, and care.
💙 Let’s continue working toward a healthier, more equitable Indiana.

Yesterday, the House passed a bill which would fund the family planning program at $286.5 million for a twelfth year in a row.

NFPRHA President & CEO Clare Coleman released a press statement in response:

"While we are grateful that funding for the program was preserved in the face of proposed elimination in the President’s budget and House Appropriations Committee’s proposal, flat funding is not enough to support the growing need for family planning and sexual health care across the country." https://tinyurl.com/k6vf8cuh

💙 Cervical Cancer Awareness: Protect with the HPV Vaccine
The HPV vaccine is one of the most effective tools we have to prevent cervical cancer. 💉✨

It protects against the types of HPV that cause the majority of cervical cancer cases, making vaccination a powerful step toward long‑term health.
Why the HPV vaccine matters:

🔹 Helps prevent HPV infections that can lead to cervical cancer
🔹 Proven safe and effective for preteens, teens, and young adults
🔹 Offers long-lasting protection when given before exposure
🔹 Works alongside routine screenings to reduce cervical cancer rates

The best time to vaccinate is now.
If you or your child haven’t started or completed the HPV vaccine series, connect with your healthcare provider to get protected.

Prevention today means healthier futures tomorrow. 💙

🌿 Fertility Awareness–Based Methods: Know Your Body, Know Your Options

Fertility Awareness–Based Methods (FABMs) help people understand the natural patterns of their menstrual cycle to identify the days they are most and least likely to become pregnant.

These methods are:
✨ Hormone‑free
✨ Body‑literacy focused
✨ Evidence‑based when learned correctly

Common FABMs include:
Cycle tracking
Basal body temperature charting
Cervical mucus monitoring
Symptothermal & symptom‑hormonal methods

FABMs can be used to plan or prevent pregnancy, and many people appreciate them for giving deeper insight into their reproductive health.

📌 Effectiveness varies by method and how consistently it’s used. A Title X healthcare provider or trained educator can help you choose the right approach.
