Join the Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center team, Tuesday, November 11th, at 11:00 AM for a special Veterans Day Ceremony at the Indiana War Memorial, where Retired US Army Col. Mike Hershman, director of the VA Indiana Healthcare System (VAIHS), will be the keynote speaker honoring our Veterans. Following the service, the Indianapolis Veterans Day Parade steps off promptly at 12:00 PM from Michigan and Pennsylvania Streets, with a route passing along Pennsylvania Ave, New York St, and Meridian St.

Look for the VAIHS outreach van proudly participating, as we come together to salute those who have served our nation with honor and dedication. We invite all Veterans and community members alike to join us in remembrance and celebration of their sacrifices.

November is Lung Cancer Awareness Month. Lung cancer is the deadliest cancer among Veterans, but catching it early means a much higher rate of treatment success. If you’re 50-80 years old and a former or current smoker, talk to your provider to determine if lung cancer screening is right for you, or contact the Indianapolis VA Medical Center Lung Cancer Screening Program Coordinator at 317-988-4897.

Attention Low Income Indiana Veterans with Civil Legal Needs!

Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center in coordination with Indiana Legal Services offers a walk-in monthly free Legal Clinic, the second Tuesday of the month, to assist and advise low-income Veterans with civil legal matters.

Legal support for Wills will also be offered during June, September, and December Clinics.

Veteran Health Indiana (VHI) improves the health of the men and women who have so proudly served our nation. We receive Veterans from across the Hoosier State and referrals from Illinois. The Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center in Indianapolis is the flagship tertiary care facility for VHI, the home base for a comprehensive system of inpatient and outpatient care across Indiana. We’re expanding even more - a new 80,000 sq. ft. facility in Brownsburg will serve 20,000 Veterans yearly.
