IN Coalition to Reduce Underage Drinking

IN Coalition to Reduce Underage Drinking The Indiana Coalition to Reduce Underage Drinking (ICRUD) works to reduce youth access to alcohol through advocacy and policy change.

The Indiana Coalition to Reduce Underage Drinking is a subsidiary of Mental Health America of Indiana, a non-profit organization. ICRUD works to reduce youth access to alcohol through advocacy and policy change. ICRUD aims to create healthier and safer environments by reducing the accessibility and availability of alcohol to underage persons. ICRUD believes that all young people have the right to live and learn in environments that do not promote or facilitate underage drinking. We believe that youth and adults working together for policy change are an integral part of the solution.

Your Life Experience Needed!
The Indiana Division of Mental Health and Addiction (DMHA) is working with the IU Richard M. Fairbanks School of Public Health on a study to identify the unique issues, life events, and circumstances that may help explain why people begin using or continue using drugs. We are also interested in learning more about how drug use affects suicidal thoughts and behaviors.

If you are an adult (18 years or older) and live in Indiana, and if you have a history of substance misuse or addiction to prescription pain relievers, he**in, fentanyl, benzodiazepines, or methamphetamine, we would like to talk with you.
If you volunteer to be in the study, you will complete a phone or online interview with a member of our research team. The interview will last approximately 45-60 minutes. You will be asked questions related to your drug use history. During the interview, you can always refuse to answer specific questions, if they make you feel uncomfortable. As a thank-you for your time, you will receive a $50 Walmart gift card.

The study is being conducted by Dr. Marion Greene, a professor in the Department of Health Policy and Management, in the IU Richard M. Fairbanks School of Public Health.

If you have additional questions or would like to participate in the study, please contact Harold Kooreman at hkoorema@iu.edu or at 317-278-3362 to schedule a time for an interview.
