We welcome the news that the Department of Education will award $208 million in grants to the Mental Health Service Professional Demonstration and School-Based Mental Health programs. NASP has led these bipartisan efforts to address the nationwide shortage of school psychologists and we are encouraged by the Department's commitment to empowering communities to hire highly trained and credentialed school psychologists to serve the needs of all students. Despite the disruptions caused by the administration's cancellation of these grants earlier this year, awarding a new round of funding to hire and retain school psychologists will provide students, families, and communities with the critical support they need from the federal government. As we wrap up National School Psychology Week, today’s theme—“Reflect on Your Path”—invites us to pause and celebrate growth. Take time to thank the school psychologists who guide, support, and empower others every day. Tag your school psych mentor or colleague and let them know how they have impacted you!

Today’s theme, “Share Your Path,” reminds us that every story, culture, and perspective enriches our school communities. Consider looking into the NASP Exposure Project. When we open our paths to others, we build understanding, connection, and belonging.

Today’s theme, “Promote Your Path,” invites us to use our voices to create change. Reflect on
your community’s needs and how you can advocate for greater support for students—and for our profession. The NASP recommended ratio of school psychologists to students is 1:500, and Indiana’s average is more than double that! When we speak up together, our impact grows stronger.

Today’s theme, “Find Your Path,” reminds us to reflect on the journeys that shape us and the goals that guide our work. As school psychologists, we help students navigate challenges, discover their strengths, and take meaningful steps toward their goals. Every path begins with one intentional step. What did you want to be before you became a school psychologist? What led you here?
