FMCSA Administrator Derek Barrs reiterated the importance of having safe, qualified professional drivers on the nation’s roads. He said FMCSA will soon announce actions to ensure entry-level driver training schools are adhering to federal regulations.
“We are going to take a hard look at those individuals and there will be serious consequences for them,” Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said of lax driver training schools.

Most highway and trucking programs will operate without interruption because they receive funding from the Highway Trust Fund and the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act rather than annual appropriations.
