Turns out… that graphic design degree didn’t go to waste after all.

It just took a winding path—through muddy boots, wild harvests, late-night infusions, and a whole lot of life—to find its place.

Now it shows up on every label I make.

What’s something you learned many moons ago and use now?

This week’s rain has been steady—quiet, persistent, soaking deep.

And still, the flowers aren’t worried.

God built in their protection. Petals fold in at dusk. Blossoms close tight against the rain. What looks like retreat is actually wisdom… a kind of holy rest.

They don’t fight the storm.
They trust the design.

Maybe we’re allowed to do the same. How do you rest on rainy days?

Checked on a Chickweed patch today—almost ready, but not quite.

Healthy, steady, on its way.

Have you seen any in your yard yet? 🌱

We’ve been a little quieter over here… not for lack of living, but because life has been growing—quiet and steady, right under my heart.

By God’s mercy, we’re expecting another wiggly sweetheart this October.

Turns out, building a tiny human takes just about everything you’ve got—time, energy, breath, and a whole lot of grace. So if you’ve wondered where I’ve been, I’ve been here… just moving a little slower, tending what matters most.

Your kids come running up with a sting, scrape, or mystery itch…

Are you:
A) Running for the house
B) Looking around at what’s growing nearby

Let’s hear it 👇

Found a welcome surprise, Chickweed, in the yard today when the kids took the plant ID app out exploring. 🌱

Alright, your turn —
What’s the first plant you’ve spotted waking up this spring? Drop it in the comments. I want to see what’s popping up in your yards too. 🌿

Muddy hands.
Tiny green sprigs pushing through cold soil.

This is the season where hope looks small… but stubborn. 🌱

Fake spring has arrived… and I, for one, am coming out of hibernation.

The sun shows up for five minutes, the mud is back, and suddenly everyone in Indiana remembers we actually like being outside.

So today I’m opening the windows, stepping into the yard barefoot (questionable choice), and pretending winter is over.

Soon enough the Chickweed will wake up, the Yarrow will stretch toward the sun, and the garden will start whispering again.

Until then, I’ll take this little taste of warmth and thank God for the promise tucked inside it.

Winter rests the earth.
But spring—real or fake—reminds us life is getting ready to move again. 🌱

Emulsifying = convincing oil and water to stop fighting and act civilized.

They naturally separate. Every time.
But add heat and the right emulsifier, and suddenly they bind together into one smooth, creamy lotion.

It’s basically plant chemistry with good manners.

Opposites.
Properly supported.
Working beautifully together.

Frankincense on the still today.

Yes, that Frankincense.

Once fit for the King of kings. Now bubbling away in my kitchen like it belongs here.

Ancient resin. Modern grit.
Same faithful plant.

The snow’s melting, which means two things: mud everywhere and big plans brewing.

We’re putting up dried herbs, whispering prayers over the pantry shelves, and soaking up the last slow mornings before spring calls us outside again.
