Found a welcome surprise, Chickweed, in the yard today when the kids took the plant ID app out exploring. 🌱

Alright, your turn —
What’s the first plant you’ve spotted waking up this spring? Drop it in the comments. I want to see what’s popping up in your yards too. 🌿

Muddy hands.
Tiny green sprigs pushing through cold soil.

This is the season where hope looks small… but stubborn. 🌱

Fake spring has arrived… and I, for one, am coming out of hibernation.

The sun shows up for five minutes, the mud is back, and suddenly everyone in Indiana remembers we actually like being outside.

So today I’m opening the windows, stepping into the yard barefoot (questionable choice), and pretending winter is over.

Soon enough the Chickweed will wake up, the Yarrow will stretch toward the sun, and the garden will start whispering again.

Until then, I’ll take this little taste of warmth and thank God for the promise tucked inside it.

Winter rests the earth.
But spring—real or fake—reminds us life is getting ready to move again. 🌱

Emulsifying = convincing oil and water to stop fighting and act civilized.

They naturally separate. Every time.
But add heat and the right emulsifier, and suddenly they bind together into one smooth, creamy lotion.

It’s basically plant chemistry with good manners.

Opposites.
Properly supported.
Working beautifully together.

Frankincense on the still today.

Yes, that Frankincense.

Once fit for the King of kings. Now bubbling away in my kitchen like it belongs here.

Ancient resin. Modern grit.
Same faithful plant.

The snow’s melting, which means two things: mud everywhere and big plans brewing.

We’re putting up dried herbs, whispering prayers over the pantry shelves, and soaking up the last slow mornings before spring calls us outside again.

Snow doesn’t kill herbs — it covers them. Roots still hold. Life still waits.

🌿 Drop a 🌱 if you’re buried, not broken.
❄️ What’s something you’re trusting God to thaw in time?

Even the wild things God gives a rest.

Coughs hit our house.
We reached for Sage in Froat Balm and some Oregano essential oil.
What’s your go-to when coughs start?

Built a new workstation for the cosmetic line—because the work matters, and so do the people it’s made for.
Clean lines, careful hands, and a whole lot of intention going into products meant for friends near and far.
This is where the next season of Wild Jael’s takes shape.

God designed herbs with purpose—long before science caught up.

Calendula is a clear example. Modern research shows it has real anti-inflammatory effects, with a recent clinical study finding that a Calendula-based topical salve helped reduce pain and inflammation in people with rheumatoid arthritis (Jurca et al., 2020).

What a gift—to find healing written into the soil itself.
The same God who formed our bodies also planted what they would need to be cared for.
