“Words to think about” Wednesday…OT Month may be quickly coming to an end, but the skills you learn in therapy and the effort that goes into teaching them are ongoing! Therapy may be hard work, but it exercises your brain. A very important muscle to keep using!

Indiana weather is like being on this roller coaster! And sometimes, so is life! Remember to take a deep breath, press on your head, walk away, and use all your tools! A growth mindset goes a long way…all I can do is keep trying!

A day late for Tiny Tidbit Tuesday but it is a favorite fun fact in honor of OT Month: your thumb is 60% of your hand function! Boy do you realize it when you are little and learning to put on your socks or old & you have some arthritis! Thank goodness for our OT experts!

Happy Occupational Therapy (OT) month to Vicki! She truly is the best there is! Whether you are trying to regulate your sensory system, come up with a plan for getting laundry done, learn how to write letters, put on socks, improve your memory skills, use tools, or solve a problem, she’s the one to go to! Occupational therapists really do have to do it all, and they do it with skill, grace, and a lot of ingenuity! We love you, Vicki! This is a great month to thank your OT!!

Self-care Sunday….we live in Indiana which means weather changes on a dime & this season has been crazy! If your child seems to also be acting crazy, they have sensory issues! Know that it will get better when the weather settles down, but also remember to check in with your OT to keep you on track. They may need more pressure or more movement! We got this!
