Two years ago, the Simpson family was preparing for what felt like a final FET. After suppression, a failed transfer, and exploring donor options that were suddenly pulled away, they were left exhausted and out of time. most people don’t know this, because i wasn’t ready to share it much then, but we had already begun accepting that using a donor might be our best chance. after months of orilissa suppression and a heartbreaking failed fet in october, we were running out of options, out of time, and honestly… out of strength.
our clinic helped choose someone for us… but at the end of november, she was suddenly pulled. we were back to three untested embryos, a month away from insurance resetting, and emotionally exhausted in a way only people on this journey truly understand.
so in a moment of pure stubborn hope — and maybe a little anger — i asked if we could try one more time before the year ended. one more fet. a last‑ditch chance.
we pieced together a protocol with a little of what dr. j wanted, a little of what i felt in my gut, and a little of what we both desperately hoped might finally be the thing… and somehow, beautifully, it worked. ✨
